Matsumoto Shave Ice is hands down the best shave ice I’ve had on the North Shore and I’ve tried quite a few spots over the years. What really makes it stand out is the texture of the ice. It’s shaved so finely it’s almost like snow powder, not chunky or hard pieces of ice like some other places.
I got mine with condensed milk and big mochi balls, and the combo was perfect. The mochi adds this chewy contrast to the soft ice, and the condensed milk brings...

Best shaved ice on the island and probably the least expensive! A small (which was huge) was $3.75 and a large was $4.25. Service was lightning fast and the gift shop had super cute souvenirs to choose from. The line was long, but went very quickly.
