The Terrace Hanalei (Upstairs)

From the restaurant you have a beautiful view of the mountains. The service is fast and good.
There is quite a large selection of food to choose from and it tastes good so far, although I can't necessarily recommend the burger with fish because the taste of the bun completely overpowers the fish. Unfortunately, it's a bit of a shame.

My wife and I had a nice peaceful dinner during their later hours on a Sunday. Staff is warm and welcoming. Just the right amount of attentiveness and never made us feel rushed considering the late hour. I can’t remember her name, but the tall blonde woman serving us was a wonderful server. We started with the furikake fries for appetizer and they were delicious. I had the blackened catch of the day which I chose the mahi mahi. Paired with the purple sweet potato the blackened seasoning on the mahi mahi blends together in a harmonious manner. Asparagus was crisp and perfectly cooked and seasoned. My wife had the teriyaki chicken bowl and enjoyed it very much. Definitely be back here if we take another trip to Kauai.

We had coconut shrimp, crab cakes, fish and chips dishes. All were very good. Mai tai and margaritas also well prepared. Prices were reasonable for the area. Great view of mountains. Service on both visits was excellent, despite busy time.

The best in town. We were very happy to be turned away by the less desirable places only to find this gem of a restaurant with a cool breeze and pleasant staff.

Reservations were easy. The Restrauant was not even 1/2 full on a Sunday at 5:00 pm. The waiter was slow, enjoyed talking in his first language ( Spanish) with the party behind us. Took a long time to finally order then the food arrived much later with the dinner salad as well. So while I consume my salad, my meal gets cold. I hate that
The chicken teriyaki was good portioned and appropriately priced. The beef short rib was underwhelming and very expensive for what Lille you got.

Overall a disappointment as we went there for our anniversary. We live in kauai and are not tourists. Much better value restaurants on island other than here.

Portion size, food is hot and the price matches the size of portions. So many places up charge while giving less. This place will be a solid dinner.

Some of the BEST coconut shrimp we had on the island! And one of the most beautiful views. We ate here twice and loved EVERYTHING we had. The service staff are friendly and offered us some ideas of things to do on different parts of the island. Would recommend this place for a laid back atmosphere with excellent food. Will definitely be visiting here again on our next trip.

The food is okay, I got the salmon with penne. I would not have put the two together but it was fairly good! It seemed like it needed more flavor though. Customer service is fast and the staff is super friendly! My husband reserved a spot closer to the mountains which was a great choice! We got to see a double rainbow and look out over everything.

What a fantastic place in the heart of Hanalei! The restaurant self is really cute, and you could go there casual or for a nice dinner. We got the muscles and calamari for appetizers, which were amazing! And we got the braised beef and salmon penne for entrees. Everything was so delicious and perfectly prepared! I would say this was our best meal in Kauai, and we went some pretty fancy places.

This is our favorite happy hour spot! You can’t go wrong with $6 beers and their incredible coconut shrimp. We visit multiple times during our trips to Hanalei. Miguel and staff are very attentive. Plus you get the best view of Hanalei! Pictured is their Ube Piña colada.
