Came by a couple of days ago with family. The katsu bento made a few of us sick, unfortunately. Everything else they tried they said was good, but wanted to flag that just in case.
Originally gave a higher rating, but after getting sick from the food, I had to adjust. Just a heads-up for others.

The bentos and staff are excellent update: May 2025 OMG. lick ur plate action. I ate a one choice (blk belt chicken (my daughter's name for it), aka Nori Chicken with fried rice from the line. the food was yummy (ONO) the amount of food I wasnt able to finish (picture is left over - sorry should have taken b4 i ate).. this place is awesome for a quick bite..

The Hawai‘i Department of Health Food Safety Branch shut down Hiro’s Place due to multiple repeated food safety violations.

A must if you're in the area. The food is super affordable and delicious, fresh made. Portions are big, people are super nice, and it's definitely big for the locals, too.

Over salt EVERYTHING. If they didn't use a ton of salt on everything, "heart attack central", then it would be decent. Also there prices are getting out of control. 17+ I paid for a 3 choice and it was an average size plate. Better off going panda express
