Horrible owner. The take out boxes were broken and the loco moco leaked all over and he pretended deaf. I repeated and he started to yell at me, threaten me if not stopping harassing him and leave his store immediately, he will call police. He knew local police🤷🏻♀️
As a tourist I’d say, stay away.

If you love the old kojis dont go now, I've been eating at kojis for 10 years, always got the roast beef plate and it used to be amazing, thick cuts of beef with perfect brown gravy and more than enough food to satisfy. The new ownership should be embarrassed, my roast beef plate (and my coworkers) was 4 thin slices of lunch meat on rice with with absolutely garbage white gravy that tastes like water. No joke I ate the meat in 2 bites it was so pathetic, get more meat in one gas station sandwich. Mo Betta change the name from kojis to uncle's pilau eats

What happened to this place!?! Food is absolutely horrible now. Slimy, white gravy on the Loco moko now. Disgusting old rotten watercress and no tofu in my pork, tofu, and watercress dish. Koji burger is a joke now. Change the name if you going put out food like this.

I am 34 weeks Hapai (pregnant) and the lady owner was rude and wouldn't let me return/refund or get something new off the menu as the corn beef tasted burnt and old like canned dog food (she claimed she opened a new can when she made my food). Then she said she cannot return anything as I touched it and that she won't make money and the homeless/houseless across the street do this to her all the time. She told me if I don't like it I can throw it on the street. I ordered fish and chips from her the day before and the fish wasn't fried but grilled. False advertisement. She told me she cannot do it as panko would ruin her fryer. I went back to give her the benefit of the doubt and left disappointed. As she said because I don't return what I don't like at other restaurants. So don't go here because the customer isn't always right.

The new owners' of this well known establishment in Hilo should not use the Koji's name. Their food quality is poor. We heard about the food quality but decided to give it another try. My husband bought a teri pork plate and a hamburger steak plate. The teri pork was dry, no flavor and not enough teri sauce. The hamburger patty had not just one but five strands of hair! The strands were mixed within the ground meat. The owner was rude. She did not want ti to listen or even try to make it right. We have been long time customers of the original Koji's Bento Korner. I have to give a star for this to post hence one star. They do NOT deserve any stars or the use of Koji's name. So pilau!

The new owners should not be using the Koji name. The food has gone downhill. My koji loco was ordered with fried rice. Shell was in the eggs, no Portuguese sausage, no fried rice no Kim chee, or even a fork. Called to try make it right and the manager was rude and had a bad attitude. I won’t be returning and I was a long time customer of the original Koji Korner. Sad day for Hilo
