I ordered a Mac Attack with Steph. She was awesome, sweet and mention that the Mac attack was one of the best. And it was! It’s a Hot Dog with Mac and Cheese, bacon bits, Teri mayo and spicy mayo on top. Their chef Jordan made it hot and fresh and really quick. I was impressed.

We ordered 3 different hot dogs (Mac & Cheese hot dog, Aloha hot dog & chili-cheese hot dog) they ALL were disappointing… the Mac & cheese was cold and was NOT freshly made, the chili-cheese dog was a bowl of rice with chili sauce and a cut up wiener-[not the hot dog that was ordered!] The buns weren’t toasted and appeared to be straight out of the package. The wieners weren’t warm and didn’t taste fresh. Maybe it was a bad day for them but overall experience was unpleasant.
Food was very tasty: I had the Aloha Dog, wife had mac-n-cheese; MIL had nacho dog.
Only two tiny tables outside: this is a take-away joint... but that was a dog worth traveling for!

I travel to Hilo often for work and Saucy Dogs is always one of my first stops. This small, locally owned business has many different hot dog creations to choose from. My go to is their Chicago dog or the kalua dog with the Hawaiian or Portuguese dog, but you can't go wrong with any of their creations. The price is very reasonable and they do not skimp on the portions.
The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. At first glance, the menu can be overwhelming with so many different hot dogs and toppings to choose from, but the cashier was more than happy to walk me through it and give some recommendations.
There are a few tables and chairs outside, but seating is very limited. This does not bother me considering how great the food and service is. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area.

The (seemingly) manager was super helpful in explaining all their offerings, and guided us to one of the BEST hot dogs we’d ever eaten - or only regret was not coming back!!

We saw a video made by a recent patron, on Tik Tok! Decided to take a chance and we were not disappointed!!! The girl that helped us, and her Auntie cooking up behind the wall, were over the top nice. Hot Dogs were DELICIOUS. An amazing amount of choices in types and toppings! Few tables outside to sit, or you can get to take out :) definitely give Saucy Dogs a try!
