Lunch was Ono. Even their POG cake was great.
Day one of the trip and I've found the bakery I want to eat at every day! The pastrami sandwich on panini was amazing. And their drip coffee was perfect. They also had all kinds of sweets I might have to check out on future trips on!
0/5 stars. We got married in Hawaii and ordered a 9” strawberry cake from Short and Sweet. Not one person finished their slice. There was no flavor and it had the texture of bread. I atleast expected something edible for over $200. VERY disappointing.

We read it had a great banana cream pie. They did not have any but they had some other great stuff. The bakery has a passion for their craft. They know what they are doing and are innovating on local flavors. I highly recommend them!
If you ask for half n half they will add $2.25 to your coffee. I haven’t seen that before. That made it an $8 cold brew, which is ok if it’s delicious, but it didn’t live up to that price. I thought it was watery and bitter. Try using more grounds and soak for less time. Or cease up-charging for cream so expectations are lower lol.
Tiny bakery where we bought mini sourdough loaf that was delicious.
Came here for breakfast sandwiches and boy oh boy was it amazing!!!! I loved the focaccia breakfast sandwich. Great service also! Perfect way to start the day
Full of Aloha and yumminess
We use to come here a few times a month, but their prices have gone crazy in the last few years. I understand inflation and everything has become more expensive, but it's hard to justify that 3 years ago their breakfast bowl (which is not all that big) was $7.50 and now it is $14! For $14 you can go to Kens and get a proper breakfast.
The desire to support local is constanty overruled by places charging tourist prices with no kamaaiana discount.
Old menu prices in pic.

I discovered “Short n Sweet” bakery when searching for “cocoa puffs” on the Big Island using ChatGPT. To my surprise this bakery showed up. On my first visit they were out of them but i tried a cupcake and coffee. The young man working the front was kind and professional during my experience. I returned on another day to acquire and try their version of the famous “Cocoa Puffs” found on Maui and O’ahu! Mahalo to Short n Sweet

Wonderful cafe with the nicest staff. The bagel breakfast sandwich was so delicious, as was the chocolate frosted donut. Definitely worth a stop at this tasty bakery.
No public bathroom though, you have to track down the roaming security guard for access.

Pics of menu are extremely outdated. Breakfast bowl was meh. Eggs tasted powdered. Potatoes were soggy. Tiny portion. With 20% tip total was $17.74 for a single breakfast bowl that probably contained 9oz of food. Left hungry. Won't be returning.
