One of the best places in Hilo to dine. Loved coming here in my childhood and I intend to keep going.
Nice family restaurant. Food was also good.
Great place for onolicious Japanese food in Hilo Shopping Center. We had the California roll to share & delicious miso soup🥣. I had the two choice lunch with fresh sashimi & tonkatsu that included Hijiki, koko & small oriental green salad🍱. Tonkatsu sauce was on point😋 My better half & MIL shared the two choice lunch with the shrimp n veggie tempura🍤 & teriyaki chicken. Our niece had the yummers Tekka-Don🐟🍚. For dessert they have a best Green Tea ice cream🍵🍦...read full review

Restaurant Miwa offers a relaxing atmosphere with friendly, prompt service. They serve carefully prepared, delicious Japanese cuisine at reasonable prices. The fish is mostly fresh, with the uni being particularly fresh. While the restaurant is clean but not modern, the service can be slow at times. Highlights include the coconut pie and traditional Japanese dishes like Chirashi Sushi, Fried Fish, Chicken Katsu, and Pork Shogayaki. It is a nice quiet place to eat with family and friends, providing excellent service for reasonable prices. The restaurant is a great tucked away spot for a peaceful and delicious meal, where the food and service consistently impress. The decor is simple and clean, making it a perfect spot for a date or an intimate business lunch. The staff is friendly and efficient, and guests often enjoy specials like oxtails. Overall, Miwa remains one of the best local Japanese restaurants in Hilo, offering a calm environment and tasty dishes.
