Unexpected great Thai food in Hilo. If it wasn't for the great ratings from other people we never would've chosen this place. Definitely a hole in the wall that lived up to its rating. The food was freshly prepared from basically scratch by a very friendly old lady when we ordered it. We got the fresh rolls, pad Thai, papaya salad and a soup, all were fantastic. I travel the entire country for work. One thing I searched for Everywhere I Go is great Thai food. I can honestly say that this place has the best panang curry I have ever had. The Tom kha soup is amazing as well. The woman that runs this place works the entire establishment by herself. She prepares every meal One Plate at a Time and does so with a smile on her face that makes you happy to be there.

So moved by this curry I'm reviewing it immediately, something I've never bothered to do before. It's a cold rainy day and I had a hankering for a curry, any curry, but since someone here said the pumpkin was good I went with that. I wasn't even sure it would be open cos it's past 230 and the sign says 230 but it was indeed open. My friend pointed out that her clock said 225, god bless that slow clock if that's why we're here. Great curry and my friends salad was good too. As an aside, great clean bathroom too. May be relative to the compost toilet at our lodgings, but still good.
