Hidden gem fresh poke & sashimi. Got here early morning and the gentleman cutting tuna gave us some samplers. Purchased their tuna poke bowl and its delicious! Highly recommended for sashimi/poke lovers!

The fish is so fresh and delicious. Love the place and the guy who helped us choose was so nice. Will definitely go back.

Kinda hidden, it's probably the only fish market among the stalls, but it's cheap, clean and delicious. We had the sashimi and it's probably the way to go for cheap seafood.

88 Fresh Fish Market is located in Chinatown in Oahu Market. One side of their stall is facing Kekaulike St while the rest of the sides are inside the marketplace. They offer fresh whole fish, cut up pieces of fish (filet, heads, belly, etc.), sashimi and poke. Personally, I have never had their sashimi and fresh poke but I will one day as friends here and from Canada rave about it. I did buy whole fish here a few times to have prepared at Chinese restaurants for group dinners. 88 Fresh Fish Market offers to clean it which is great. I also like how neatly they pack it for you so your car doesn't get all fishy. This most recent visit taught me that you have to come early for a larger selection. Usually 2-3 lbs of a whole fish is good for an intimate group dinner but the smallest whole fish available for Chinese style fish (ginger, green onion, soy and hot oil) was just under 5 lbs this most recent visit. They actually tried to sell me on buying a 6lb-8lb fish. Glad I went with the smaller option as it was more than enough for our group dinner. I was told smaller fish that are about 2-3 lbs taste better so I'll need to go earlier next time. Fish can get pricey and it's great that they accept Visa and MasterCard since not many people carry that much cash into Chinatown. Overall, solid place to buy fresh fish in the Chinatown area.

Located in Chinatown in Honolulu. It's a small corner booth in a crowded building full of eateries that are mainly authentic Chinese foods. The market offers a variety of fresh fish choices from Mahi to Salmon and everything in between. You can buy whole fish, fillet, sashimi and poke all by the pound. I sampled the yellowtail poke (amazing) which is hard to come by in Oahu. I'll be back for more. The Ahi Poke was just just as good. They were unfortunately sold out of the Otoro which was what I came for. I guess someone had just came and bought the entire thing. The pieces are cut directly from the fish, so your unable to by less than a pound to avoid getting a super thin slice.

I decided to treat myself to sashimi on a Sunday since Maguro Bros is closed on Sundays. I asked for a variety with Chu Toro, King Salmon, and Hamachi. It was minimum 1 lb for the Chu Toro, so I got 1 lb of that and 1/2 lb of the King Salmon, and 1/2 a lb of Hamachi. If you see my pics and do the math, yes, I totally splurged with about $75 of fresh raw fish. Was it worth it? Yes. Would I do this again? Definitely. Their prices are actually reasonable compared to others I've seen. They were really nice. Told me to call next time so I don't have to wait, and the lady packed some ice for me as well. The fish was fresh and really good. The only thing I wasn't sure of was when you buy sashimi, is the price per lb just for the sashimi? Or is it typical to charge for on the weight before cutting, i.e. with the parts that get tossed like the skin? Regardless, I'll definitely be back.

Hidden gem poke and sashimi place at the back of Oahu Market! Some of the freshest fish you can get, and friendly service as well.

Really high quality fish, and we were even offered a free sample while we waited for our order!

THE SASHIMI IS AMAZING! We have sashimi nights and it’s so much better than going to a sushi rice + cheaper for my whole family. Hamachi is a must, with King Salmon and Chutoro.

An amazing place in the Chinatown at Honolulu! The fish was so fresh, the staff were so kind to let us try some sashimi just showing how fresh it tasted. We got the salmon sashimi and chutoro and do not regret at all. The prices may seem steep but it's actually such a good deal compared to what I would get in DC. They even package it so well. You can request it sashimi cut and they would package it securely for you to take it home with a lot of ice in the bag. I was out for 3-4 hours and the fish was still very cold In the bag while in the car. Was a bit worried it would go bad, but didn't even need to. Would definitely come back to the area to pick some fish up again!

88 Fresh Fish Market is located in the Kekaulike Market. The stall location for 88 Fresh Fish Market is right on Kekaulike so that is where I stopped. Truthfully I was looking for a different fish monger but.... Okay, I admit! Not the cleanest place but it's Chinatown! It's a fish market! 88's fish was FRESH. My imagination would say it was so fresh that it was still wiggling.... Short of my imagination, I will say it cooked and ate like true fresh fish. Not the cheapest place but it's okay. Freshness is paramount. They cleaned it. I steamed it, and we ate it! I would do this again..... One short coming is the parking so be prepared to have someone drive you and circle the block or park in the municipal and walk!

Local Chinese/Viet family. They speak multiple languages (Eng, Canto, Viet, Teochew, Mandarin) so it may be helpful for older relatives. Interesting to watch the fish descaled and cleaned on site.Poké (e.g., limu!) available on the inside. Poké bowls available through the sister store next door, Morning Catch.
