The food is too salty and doesn't deserve a second visit. Another thing , service is terrible , all staff are frowning

Once a regular at "Aja & Bento," my recent experiences have left me thoroughly disappointed. The gradual decline in food quality has become unmistakable, and it's disheartening to witness. The last two occasions I ordered a bento box from this establishment, my excitement turned to disgust as I discovered hair in the food. Finding foreign objects in a meal is unacceptable, and it reflects a serious lapse in hygiene standards. Such incidents not only ruin the dining experience but also raise concerns about the overall cleanliness of the kitchen. I've tried to overlook issues in the past, but encountering hair in my food on consecutive visits is a clear sign that something is fundamentally wrong. Despite being a loyal customer, I cannot ignore these hygiene lapses any longer. Sadly, this will be my last purchase from "Aja & Bento." I hope they address these issues promptly to maintain the trust of their patrons.

One of my favorite places to grab lunch. It's very convenient and quick. They offer an option for you to build your own bento with hot options available on the far right, with preset bentos on the left. You can watch as the employees plate the bentos that they are presetting, so you know that they aren't sitting for too long. My favorite bento to grab is the Ajapac with 2pcs of Shrimp Tempura, Garlic chicken, and 3 Fried Gyoza. Ive tried the Meat Jun and Salmon PACs as well, but wasn't a big fan. The Meat Jun is a little blan and doesn't taste the best when it's cold(probably better to get when it's hot), and the Salmon tends to be a bit over cooked and dry. All in all, you get a pretty decent value for the price $14.99 for the original Ajapac and $12.39 for the Mini Bento. The staff is normally friendly and will typically make sure you have everything you need before you walk away!

I eat here every so often when I'm at the Makai Food Court in Ala Moana. It's fast and convenient. Their food is already cooked. You just tell them what you want and they'll box it for you, so no wait time. I usually get the two item plate. I get the shoyu chicken and garlic chicken. Their garlic chicken is one of the best. I'm not sure what they put in their batter, but it must be super batter. Their garlic chicken stays crispy even after being drenched in the garlic sauce. I put it in the fridge, take it out the next day and it's still crispy. The sweet garlicky sauce is also divine. The plate comes with rice and your choice of three sides. I get the choy sum, takuan and taegu.

Even when they're busy you will choose your food and get sides like Taegu, jop chai and Choi sum , pre-made bentos maké sushi roll for under $20 and get a drink. With your family or a couple you'll be able to get your eat on! Mahalo for reading.

Ok, the five stars is specifically for their garlic chicken and taegu, so if you get something else and don't like it uh sorry but I didn't recommend that. It's like if PF Chang's Honey Chicken had a baby with Panda Express' Orange Chicken, wasn't as orange tasting but had this wonderful surprising sweet outer layer satisfying CRUNCH to it. My gosh, I had no expectations and now I'm going to have to go to Ala Moana for this delicious chicken. Oh no. Shopping and eating yummy chicken, sounds terrible. Lol just kidding. Anyway the one choice plate comes with rice and two sides (Taegue, japchae, Kimchee, mac salad, radishes, etc) , which they don't put not in the plate and with your rice and main dish, but in a side rectangular plastic container! So it's like getting a plate lunch but you get more because they put the veggies on the wide and they just fill up the plate with food. The ladies who worked here were super nice too! Very happy to have found this place, will be back again!

Garlic chicken was unfortunately very greasy. Sides were good though.

I've been eating here since they opened and never posted a review, now i'm gonna post why I always go back....when at ala moana food court, this is my go to meal, love aja chicken bento, its the chicken thats onolicious. Always has a slight crunch under the sauce. Service is good, accept if you go when super busy, then you feel rushed. Love they prepack bentos, sides, etc and leave out for you to select what you want or you can create your own if you go early enough. Each bento is asst or you can get only chicken if you want, love to browse and see what combo they have created for they day, sometimes it meat jun, salmon, fish, mandoo, noodles, it's like a chop suey of bentos and sometimes you can get all meat jun or a fish, all depend. It's in the food court so what ambiance you get is just typical food cour atmosphere. Nothing more or nothing less. Grab a table if you with others, they tend to fill up quickly. Go try the chicken if you've never had it, its really different from other korean chicken places.

I came in on 10/11 around 4:11 I'm leaving 1star because the food is good. The younger lady mid 30s maybe was so rude she walks up and snatched the bento out of my hand with servicing me or at least telling me I can't hold the bento. I look behind me and lady behind me is holding her food with no trouble or anyone taking her food. When I purchased the food I asked her do you allow the guest to hold the food she responds back by say with certain customers we don't let them hold the food seems pretty racist to me.

Tell It Like It Is ..

Had the zucchini and ground beef Jun. Good and fresh, zucchini slices are large and cooked nicely.

Aja is delicious, I absolutely love the quality and presentation of their bento (or Dosirak, it is more of a Korean style bento!) The ratio of the sides, meats, and vegetables are just right and honestly everything was really flavorful, well seasoned, and fresh! I got a mini bento for about $12; it had a strip of fried salmon, two pieces of garlic fried chicken, a zucchini jun, and (my favorite side) takuan slices! All on a nice, chewy, fresh bed of white rice. I also tried their kimbap rolls, which were generously filled with carrot, egg, beef, takuan, and either spinach or watercress. I really appreciate Aja being in the food court because it's a great place to grab a healthy lunch or snack after walking all around Ala Moana!
