Mariposa is wonderful because the atmosphere is quite nice and the food is consistently good, which it should be considering the price point. The service was a little disappointing this time as we waited for the server (not the food) to come a few times. He brought the bill although he had not offered us dessert or coffee, which four out of five of us wanted. Making the customer feel like you'd like for them to leave is generally not a good move. We go there often, and always have a wonderful time. Good food, great staff. When really busy, the noise level can sometimes be a little high. We sat outside this time and think we enjoyed that is was not as loud. We will be back!

Our waiter, John, provided excellent service. We had the specials - crab pasta and braised duck. Our visitors enjoyed the ocean view. Only thing was Ala Moana had some kind of car show on the day we went with cars roaring their engines.
