My sister and I celebrated our birthdays at Assagio Bistro Kahala. We ordered a bottle of Duckhorn Cabernet. Very delicious! We ordered a simple toss salad to share and it came with marinaded vegetables on top but the we really loved the dressing. For our entrees we got the chicken Marsala and the shrimp assagio. Both were very good. The shrimps were a good size, very meaty. Also the bread and butter were yummy. For dessert we ordered the amaretto gelato and the flan. The flan was ok, not very creamy but the gelato was delicious! We had the perfect evening with delicious food. ambience and service! It was my first time to this location, but I'll definitely will be back. They were so kind and never rushed us,. We did t leave until 8:20 and they closed at 8pm!

Pasta was excellent. The meatball and sausage were dense and dry. A small plate for $25.60 was a bit pricey considering there was not salad or vegetable with it.

We try to get there for lunch or dinner at least once every two months. We would go more often but we live on the north side of the island. The only criticism I have is that the plantation iced tea was sour and one of the servers informed me sometimes the pineapple juice they use is a little sour. We will still go there - we love the food.

My only complaint was that the bread, which usually comes out piping hot, came out not so hot. I started with a piece of the bread, but it was not as tasty as it could be. I asked them to get me a hotter loaf. They brought back another loaf, but it was not hot (again). Then, I asked them to replace that loaf of bread again, and this time it came out very hot. Thank you!

One star for the quiet ambience and prompt service (even though the restaurant was pretty full). A second star for the tasty Caesar salad. However the chicken cacciatore was only average, and the pasta overcooked (not al dente). The steak was cooked as requested (medium rare), but came with a watery sauce. Most importantly, the meat had no flavor, and was very tough (very hard to chew). Very disappointing.

We went for lunch on my wife's birthday. It was wide open with no crowds. Food was excellent. Wait staff was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. They gave my wife a complimentary dessert for her birthday. She choose the Lychee sorbet which was so good.

My family and I had an early dinner reservation and couldn't have been happier with the experience. We had a wonderful time from the moment we were seated until we finished our dessert. The food and the service were top notch. We weren't rushed and had the opportunity to completely enjoy our experience.

We love the menu and service at Assagios Bistro in Kahala. Great price value and abundant tasty food. I get the fish ala piccata. Wife loves the puttanesca. The bay shrimp salad is delicious and can be enjoyed by two.
Ordered an Old Fashioned but got a bowl of pulverized fruit salad in a glass of ice. Ordered crab cakes, got a greasy mess of slightly underdone glop. Ordered angel hair & meat sauce, the sauce was watery and bland.
I was surprised too at the service, the staff weren’t very welcoming. When I sat down the only thing the waitress asked is if I wanted anything other than water. Not a hello, not a welcome, no introduction, just “Do you want anything other than water?”
What a shame for such a cute little restaurant in an upper scale neighborhood. 0/10
