So sad to be present for the final evening at BLT Waikiki. Our meal was excellent; Todd's aloha spirit was just what the evening needed. Very bittersweet for us as we have been celebrating Xmas and New Years at BLT since it opened many years ago. While I'm no fan of the landlords at the Trump Hotel, I loved all the staff at BLT - the amazing popovers, the tuna tartare, the prime steaks, the Kahuku corn - all delicious and beautifully prepared and served in an upscale...
Have dined here multiple times, always great place, but sadly my server said they were given notice by corporate 2 days ago that today is the last day they are open, and they will be closing forever. Boo corporate!
Love BLT, the staff, the ambiance, and the food, but last night I had a horribly unprofessional server and will be sure to request any of the other wonderful servers except for him in future. He was totally obsequious to my guest and kept addressing him by name, "Mr. H" and me with a brusque "sir" although he knew my name as I made the reservation and was the host. Here are just two examples of his unprofessional behavior, not to mention his surly attitude....
