Yo, Jonesin' for a great burrito??? Look no further if you're cruzin' in da Kapahulu neighborhood, and stop by this little hole-in-da-wall restaurant called - "BBHI" Burgers & Burritos Hawaii! This little restaurant was actually brought to my attention awhile back by my lunch buddy - Nat N., and I will have to tell you I am totally disappointed in myself for not coming here sooner, as I frequent the Kapahulu UPS Store which is just a few doors down from this great little restaurant. Yelp's Big Night event on April 11, 2020 provided me the perfect excuse to take a break from hiding out in my crib during the current COVID-19 lockdown in da 808, and I am so glad I stepped out of da house for just for a little while to get some awesome grub, and to support a great locally run business! This business advertises - Burgers & Burritos..........but they actually do a lot more than that, so if burgers & burritos aren't your bag, Burgers & Burritos does do other items like tacos, quesadilla, taquitos, nachos, hotdogs, & they even have a breakfast menu (but bear in mind during the Covid-19 pandemic, a lot of businesses had to adjust their operating hours, so I'm not sure if they're doing breakfast at this time). Upon walking into BBHI, I was greeted right away by a friendly clerk..........there was no need to look over the menu, as I had already studied the menu pics from Yelp, and it was determined that Bruddah Fran came for da - "BIG BURRITO", and gang, Burgers & Burritos Hawaii did not disappoint when they say BIG BURRITO! The burrito was MASSIVE & heavy! I had ordered my burrito with Chicken, Black Beans, Rice, Cheese, Onions & Cilantro, Lettuce wrapped in a lightly toasted flour toritta. The clerk also asked me if I wanted a hot, or mild sauce..........I got the hot of course. What can I say about da grub? Take a look at my pics & tell me if I'm wrong? This MASSIVE Burrito was just $10.00 smackaz plus tax! Can we say DEALAGES YO!!!! The ingredients used for my burrito was all so fresh, and the chicken was nicely marinaded. Honestly you actually didn't need any hot sauce for this burrito, as the sauce actually masks some of the great flavors from this burrito...........but of course I'm a fan of HOT SAUCE so I had to use all (3) containers of hot sauce that the clerk gave me. :D What a pleasant surprise this little restaurant turned out to be, and the next time I'm cravin' a burrito.............I'm coming back to Burgers & Burritos Hawaii again for another BIG BURRITO! Like they say............"Go BIG, or Go Home!!!" Chance 'em gang...........no can go wrong!

Five stars for the food - I especially love the specialty burger (made with grass-fed beef) and the burrito. Also, the homemade mango habanero sauce is amazing. Only problem is the sporadic hours....I can never catch them open. On occasion I've tried to go during posted hours, and still found them closed. I'd give up going out of frustration, except the food is sooooo good

I recommend just about anything on their menu. Had their spicy gacumole burger, a fish taco, and nachos. Everything was made just right, not to spicy, a large portion of fish, and a large serving of beef and other ingredients with the nachos. And all were reasonably priced. Great little place to go with a small family or a couple of friends.

I was in a hurry, so I ordered to go and only waited about 5 mins or so. The guy that took my order was very nice and relaxed. He was also super helpful. I sat down, while on the phone, and he brought me my burrito bowl to go, in a bag and added my utensils, with tons of napkins. Then he showed me the sauce station for me to take what I needed. The food portion was big and the meat and veggies tasted fresh and on point, and the hot sauces were also fresh and incredible! Great spot with fantastic food and amazing service.

Worse food ever. Not sure if I've ever had pineapple on a fish taco before but it was not appetizing. Salsa bar was meh with only two different types of salsa, one super hot and other mild. Ordered chips and guacamole, but it was more like ordering a basket of salt with a side of chips. Chips were too thin as well. Guacamole was enough for maybe five bites. Definitely will not go back. Service wasn't anything special. Lady taking our order seemed to be bothered that we were there.

I've been herenow four times since the end of August, and I have not yet once been disappointed. The first two times I got nachos, the third time I got tacos. Today i got house burger and a side of beans and rice. First, the beans and rice was huge. I mean huge! Flavorful and amazing. Too much to eat along with the burger. Now on to the burger. Carefully made homemade thousand Island sauce blue cheese fresh cut lettuce and tomato and onion OMG! It was amazing. Juices dripping down my arm, I didn't care. It was amazing I stopped up the leftover beef juices and thousand island dressing with the last bit of the bun. Everything is homemade except for the bread and the tortillas. The only challenge is their hours:, they have short hours a couple of days a week and are closed a couple of days a week, so you do have to watch that. If they had more business, I think they could be open more often. It's great to be able to support a local business in a neighborhood, so if you live near Kapahulu and Winam, come on out and support our friends at burgers and burritos!

One of the best burgers you will eat around town!My favorite one stop shop for food. Great variety for everyone, meat eaters and vegetarians can enjoy it all. Sonoma hot dog and portobello mushroom sandwich are super yummy.Tacos and burritos are awesome.

They closed early. Refused service to me and another person that walked up as I was leaving.

Always looove visiting this place. I mean who would not like burgers or burritos?! :) The $10 lunch special includes delicious homemade lemonade, fries, and a hunger---pretty good deal! (Hopefully they do not raise their price.)

You can find bbh at either the farmers market at ward (maybe kcc too) or at their storefront on kapahulu. At the farmers market I normally just get a strawberry lemonade and sometimes a burger depending on my mood. But at the kapahulu location they have a lunch special running from 11-2 and it's $10 for a burger fries and drink! What a deal! The food is filling for me so it was enough portion wise. Parking is a chore or can be depending on the time of day you're going. I went about 11 and it was ok. I actually called in the order from my car and waited about 10 mins before picking it up. I only put in a Nickel or something and it was good for 4 mins. Lol. The shop is next to kapaholo musubi and across from ono seafood. So that means it's only street parking! Service was also friendly but I didn't stay really long. If you end up ordering nachos they have a little salsa bar off to the side. I think I've gotten this in the past at the farmers market and it was a little bare.

I had a burrito during the 4th of July festivities and it was fantastic I had to go check out their actual spot and it did not disappoint. Soooo ono! One thing that really stuck out for me was the menu is pretty inexpensive compared to a lot of places. $10 for a massive burrito is pretty cheap. Also, a lot of places lack customer service and I can say for sure BBHI did not. I'd give my business to nice people any day! Thank you BBHI for your delicious food and your excellent customer service!!!! It was much appreciated...we will be back for sure. : )

I just did not like the food here. I travel a lot to eat authentic Mexican food. The dishes were hard to eat. It was very messy. The flavors just did not work well together for me. The carne asada was hard and just didn't taste right to me. The rice inside the burrito was mushy and lacked flavor. There was too much vegetables for me, thus making it hard to taste the fish and shrimp on the tacos. I won't be coming back. The place was clean inside though.

I'm soooo glad theres a decent burrito and burger joint in Kaimuki! Finally! They said they'd been here for the past 2 yrs and also has food trucks. So that's where I've seen them before! I was so delighted by the Chile verde burrito and burger that I HAD to return the very next day and have it again! Light and delicious they do an awesome savory flavorful burrito! Shrimp was even lighter and a spritz of lime with it really brought out the flavors. The burger tho...what's that fantastic sauce they put on it? It was soooo good. Simple, delightful, reminds me of ma n pop mainland burger joints that send u a hug through their food. Yum

Burgers, Burritos, and Happiness Within the week, I ate at Taco Bell, OMG's, Moe's southwest Grill, and Burgers & Burritos. WINNER: Burgers & Burritos. For Burritos in Hawaii, this is dam close to LA. Only thing difference is the price. But then again, considering the cost in gas and time to drive all over LA, totally worth it! Heck, you may even come out ahead depending on your personal logistics. I ordered the Big Burrito with steak. Came out the kitchen piping hot and it... was... heavyyyyy! Salsa bar is nice. Gotta have the fresh limes to squeeze on the Burrito. With the first bite, you'll notice the tortilla is not super thick and chewy. The meat was so tender and juicy! Is that some short rib action?! I can taste the Tender, love, and care. *ten drooling emojis* Thank you Burgers and Burritos for satisfying my Mexican food withdrawals. If only you stayed open late night when we are all drunk after the clubs and bar... then the circle of life will be complete. I will be back to try your burgers, I hope you have nice buns. P.S. will you have al pastor in the future?!
