Closed on Friday 12 pm for the noon without updating on google maps. Why do you do this to people who uber to your place? Lack of respect and I will never visit again. Food overpriced also.

I rarely leave bad reviews, but my experience at the McCully location was absolutely ridiculous.

First off, watch out for double charges here. I ordered and paid on the tablet by the entrance, but the staff claimed they didn't receive it and made me pay again at the counter. I checked my bank statement later, and sure enough, I was charged for both transactions.

To make matters worse, after I paid the second time, the waiter told us to wait outside in the open-air hallway. We sat on those cold benches for about 30 minutes before they finally brought out a bunch of takeout bags. The tablet never mentioned it was 'takeout only' (nor did it restrict walk-in orders), so when we insisted we wanted to dine in, they realized they were in the wrong and reluctantly let us inside.

But the most disappointing part was the food quality. Since it's an open kitchen, we could clearly see them dumping the skewers from the takeout boxes onto plates to serve us. Because the food had been sitting out while we waited, it was served cold and tasteless.

The whole experience was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Since I know management rarely responds to reviews, I am disputing the duplicate charge directly with my bank. I will also be reporting this incident and the management's conduct directly to your headquarters in Hiroshima (株式会社カープ鳥). Avoid this place.

Don’t usually leave reviews, let alone bad ones, but our experience was pretty bad. We waiting an extremely long time for our food, just for them to forget our table. They tried to give us our check before we even got our food. Multiple tables who arrived after us got their food first and left before we got ours. We eventually got it and we were not checked up on once. Water not refilled once. Had to wave down one of the 3 waiters to get anything. Even after waiting almost an hour for food, they didn’t offer anything or to take off anything for the inconvenience. Wont be coming here again.

My first Japanese restaurant on Oahu was a complete disappointment. The skewers were nothing like the ones in Japan. They were incredibly salty, and I wonder if this was to sell more beer or something. Also, the draft beer machine seemed uncleaned, and the draft beer tasted sour. Very disappointed. Don't waste your time and money here. Not worth it.

We visited your restaurant today, but the overall experience was very disappointing. First of all, the restaurant only accepted cash and did not allow card payments, which was highly inconvenient for customers. Secondly, the dishes were served very slowly, which greatly affected our dining experience. What upset me the most was that we were forced to leave even before finishing our meal, which is completely unacceptable. Finally, when I paid in cash, I felt the service did not deserve any tip, yet the staff insisted on asking for one, which I found unreasonable and unacceptable. For all these reasons, I will not be coming back again.

Had an amazing experience here while going on a trip. You can tell it’s a high Japanese restaurant when you walk in and they all are speaking Japanese… great food and service and view.

Loved the place that I went back twice during our 3-day Oahu trip.

Food - authentic! Also so happy they offered sweet sauced skewers and I enjoyed those so much. Wings were especially good, though generally skewers seemed more salty during the second visit and had less Teriyaki taste. Motsunabe so good too, very flavorful. Delicious small dishes as well and even rarer ones like raw marinaded squid that bursted out with juice/ink(?) in mouth, fried oysters and so many more. Loved the syrup-mixed chu hi like peach and green apple, would recommend more than lemon and lime. Also great price too!!

Atmosphere - looks just like a Japanese Izakaya place, cozy and nice. Also great that it opens til midnight and saved our stomachs on the arrival day.

Service - waitresses were kind. 8/22 late night lady was super friendly and smiling all the time, offering great customer service!! 8/24 7pm lady kindly helped get skewers all recooked after miscommunication on flavor, and gave good food reccs.

Hubby and I decided to stop by here for dinner after a workshop. They were quite busy. This place was really.noisy tonight. The food was okay this time around. Hubby got the Tempura 🍤 Value Set and Hiroshima Ramen. The Tempura was too greasy so we took it home to air fry some of the oil out. He liked the Hiroshima Ramen. I got the Paitan Shoyu Ramen. It was really salty. I only ate the ramen and did not drink the soup. I kept drinking water when I got home. Maybe those was an off day for the chef. We enjoyed the food here before and will definitely come back. The staff are very nice and service was great. 👍🏻

I like to come here a lot, either alone or with a friend, usually just get the Okonomiyaki or a Ramen. Most of staff seem to be native Japanese. When it gets busy, occasionally you'll have to call them over if you need anything or if you're waiting for an order.

Absolutely loved the ramen. The broth was so good I finished the whole bowl even after eating three skewers.
