My wife and I sat right up at the bar at this lovely restaurant. We really loved the food and the cozy feel of the place! Ate several different skewers, the karaage, an egg dish, grilled musubi (so freaking good for something so simple), and had a whiskey highball and a bottle of sake. It was a fun little date dinner at a great little Japanese yakitori restaurant.
Carp Dori is AMAZING. My favorite Japanese izakaya in Honolulu. The ambiance is super cozy and welcoming, and the staff is very friendly.
The yakitori (chicken meatballs & chicken w/ wasabi) is good. The Hiroshima okonomiyaki is a must and the Saba is soo yummy. Can’t wait to go back.

After living in Japan for many years I grew to love the taste of grilled mackerel and other oily fish. I haven’t had the chance to try it for many years and this Saba shioyaki was delicious. Yakitori was great too. Spot on for taste and presentation.
