My wife and I eat lunch at the Thai Shack whenever we visit Oahu and the Navy Exchange. Food is consistently excellent, service is outstanding and the price is much better than any Thai restaurant near our hotel in Honolulu.

I got a really good quality Thai soup and a killer açaí. Just make sure to get a low spice amount if you’re not very tolerant.

Confusing process, they don’t take your name. When it is time to pick up your order they shout what you ordered. Multiple people order the same thing. Also a very long wait

Great spot to grab some Thai food. Be mindful however, because if you ask for spicy it will be spicy!

Stumbled on this place right off base around lunch time. This “shack” is no fast food joint. Everything is made to order, so it takes about 10 mins to get your food after ordering. But the wait is well worth it!

We ordered the pangang curry and Thai boat noodles. Both were flavorful and fresh! For $12-$13 per meal, this was a large helping. I will say, the Thai boat noodles did have some chunks of lemongrass, cloves, and other sneaky flavor bombs that can get intense if you aren’t careful to pick them out.

I will come back again for sure!

I finally was at the NEX at the right time and got to try their Pad Thai veggie style with spicy level 3! He was checking with me since I didn't want the sprinkle of peanuts or eggplant but loved the Thai basil, sprouts, cilantro, etc etc OMG it was still HOT when I got to Makiki... w/ traffic!! Thank you so very much for such a delicious feast!!! Even leftovers for tomorrow, yummmmmm! No pic cuz it was half gone in a flash!

Best chicken pad Thai! Chef T and her staff are all so friendly and they work incredibly hard to give everyone an amazing dish and experience. Wait times can be a little long when they are busy but that is because everything is FRESH and made to order. Pack your paitence and check them out!

My husband and I have stopped here a few times after shopping and were surprised how authentic and delicious this Thai food was! Super friendly staff! I had the green Thai curry and my husband had the surf and turf and both were excellent - complex flavors and good heat! I've eaten a lot of great Thai food and this is one of the best.
If only you could put an amazing Khao Soi on your menu, I'd be there all the time... 😍

Service was fantastic! Everyone was so kind. Portion sizes are big and pricing is affordable. Only thing is the pad Thai sauce kinda threw me off making it taste more like stir fry. Nonetheless I would give them my business again and try something else because of service, quickness, and affordability.

This is the best Thai food you can get . The chicken satay especially, anytime I have ever went to the px I have been sure to get this . Service and food was ono ?? highly recommend the chicken satay !!!
