This is my second pho experience in the district and I can 100% this one was best so far. I really enjoyed the broth and the beef was very fresh. The greens were also bright and crisp. Amazing service, definitely will come back. The pho was amazing! Note that they recently had a name change to golden river, same owner/staff. The place can be empty at times but I think it’s because the lunch crowds eats fast.
We’ve been looking for a good bowl of pho for a long time and were quite disappointed. Their menu is a mix of Cantonese and Vietnamese, we wouldn’t have gone if it wasn’t recommended by my auntie. Their pho is easily the best on the island!!! You can smell the spices the second it’s brought out of the kitchen. Good portion of meat and each bite is very tasty. Service is good. Found out the owner is Vietnamese born Cantonese, hence the menu.
It has been a while since I have found a very good Vietnamese restaurant that still offers authentic dishes, true taste, no skipping on ingredients, and generous portions at a reasonable price. Of course I had to go to Chinatown and the most sketchiest part to find it, but it was well worth it.Located at the end of Chinatown at the corner or River and N. King it isn't exactly the most pleasant of locations. The building as well as the surroundings are rather dubious and ominous...
