Really delicious dishes

Good Japanese food. Nice setting. Decent service. I like the senior specials. Just enough food for a reasonable price.

The food is always consistent. Staff are nice and the restaurant is lively but not loud. We love this place.

The lunch special was amazing: sushi, tempura, teriyaki chicken, miso soup and salad. An excellent variety of all the classic Japanese cooking styles.

The miso butter fish is delicious.

Decor is good, but food is really average. Nothing special.

We went for lunch today. The food and service were excellent. My issue is with the 14oz Asahi Draft that I ordered. I have the exact same glass at home and know that it does not hold 14oz. I would recommend management verify that the glass does indeed hold 14oz otherwise it is fraud. I hope I’m wrong but the next time I go I will bring along a 12 oz can of juice and check for myself.

Excellent experience here. Our waitress Siri and the service that was provided was fantastic. I had the 3 Combination plate for lunch with Sashimi, Butterfish and Tempura which is my go to meal there. Highly recommended.

Parking: Easy to find parking other than Sundays.

Chicken and terri steak were delicious. Service friendly and fun. Look forward to trying their sushi next time.

When my parents told me that they were going to Gyotaku for dinner, I called the Niu Valley location from the mainland to try to pay for it as a surprise. The cashier answered the phone and told me they usually don’t do that and put me on hold. I waited for 6 minutes, hung up and called again. Maybe she forgot about me. She put me on hold again for 6 minutes. At this point, my parents might be finished eating. I hung up and called again and no answer.

Maybe my expectations are too mainland now but wow… I thought the Gyotaku staff would be more thoughtful.
