We've been in and out of Hickam for the last 3 weeks as I spent some of my terminal leave here. We've eaten here 6 times. My wife, three young kids and mother-in-law. This chow hall has been our go-to. They are very polite workers and it seems to be a contract with a company that helps those with special needs for some of the positions. The food is fine. They have the main line and then the burger and bad for you food line. Decent salad bar and choice of drinks. My young children have really enjoyed interacting with some of the workers cleaning the dinning area and being playful playing peekaboo and such. My wife, who know some ASLhas enjoyed talking to the deaf employee. It's never very crowded at all and the prices are very good. Highly recommend for everyone, especially retirees or people on Space a that are just looking for a good meal and don't want to cook in their hotel or resort.

If you’re going and paying cash or credit card, pay attention. They’ll charge you for things you didn’t get and when you draw attention to it, they’ll say they’re unable to refund you, so you’re just out the money.

Breakfast is the best meal here, as is the case with lots of chow halls. It's also inexpensive compared to eating on the economy. About $4-$5 for a scramble, biscuit & gravy, and a glass of juice.

Overall pretty good. The staff are bound to strict recipes so if you like extra spice, then make sure to bring it yourself.

Food is pretty good. It charges around $7 to $8 on food including snacks and everything. It takes cash and card. You can also leave your feedback and they’ll make sure that needs are met. The staff is 100% very kind and energetic. Definitely eating here more often. They’ve improved a lot.

Food was alright. It's a military DFAC, but I'm getting charged Ala carte and on top of that a 33% surcharge. It's over priced.

Depressing.Pro: Open early, plenty of parking, great service, discounted foodCon: Ala Carte pricing. Variety was severely limited.Summary: Was told it was the best place to eat, but was severely disappointed. Except for the excellent service, the prices and variety of items was severely lacking. It might be better to make your own breakfast or go to breakfast elsewhere.

Would have given 1 star but not crowded so gave 2. Disappointing food and there is large surcharge depending on military status had to pay 33% surcharge so over 12$ to eat dfac food....

They don’t take card. They don’t have coffee at breakfast. They should post that they are cash only at the door so you don’t wait 15 mins while your eggs are made and then have them take your food at the register while you leave and go to the atm. Like I’m an active duty servicemember, it shouldn’t be like this.
