I found most of the food in Waikiki area of Honolulu to not be very impressive, but the Halekulani Bakery had such delicious artisan pastries that I made it my regular breakfast spot during my Hawaiian vacation.  The tea and scones here were okay, but the croissants and danishes are a must try! They had the perfect level of flakiness, and come of a variety of tropical flavors. The bakery itself has a nice contemporary feel with a large communal table for indoor seating, and a patio out  front for those who wishes to dine outdoors.  The staff here were friendly.I tried the following baked goods:- Lemon Currant Scone- Guava Danish- Mango Kouign Aman- Salted Caramel Croissant- Pabanan Croissant (Passionfruit, mango & banana)- Raspberry Pistachio Croissant- Big Island Macadamia Nut & Chocolate Croissant- Passionfruit DanishDietary restrictions: Gluten free options available but very limited selection

Love the way they incorporate local ingredients into their baked goods. Tasty, just a bit pricey.

The worst customer service. Said they take Apple Pay. After waiting 30 min line to pay I was then told their machine doesn’t always work with amex Apple Pay. I asked if there was any way I could just give them CC number and they weren’t even apologetic about the inconvenience. I had to then walk away without my food and coffee I had ordered all because they made the mistake telling me from the beginning they take Apple Pay but failed to mention not AMEX anywhere in their shop. Not a single apology for all of what I went through. Garbage customer service.

Saw this bakery on instagram when planning our trip to Waikiki. Lucky for us we were staying a block away at the outrigger reef hotel! We went to Halekulani Bakery every day of our stay and even brought a bag of goodies home! The salted caramel chocolate croissant was my personal favorite. However, there was nothing that I didn’t like! The guava danish, chocolate macadamia croissant, and cream pan were all outstanding! Do yourself a favor and get to this gem!

I heard from locals that this is the most popular bakery in Hawaii right now.I got the impression that there were a lot of Danish and sweet breads, but the banana muffins were delicious. It's expensive.

Made it just in time to check out the bakery as they close at 11:30am. So many things we wanted to try - ended up grabbing a chocolate coconut croissant, chocolate croissant, a tropical fruit croissant, and a mango kouign amann. We enjoyed our treats at their outdoor seating area. Can't remember all the fruits that were in the tropical fruit croissant, but it was full of filling. Yum! Light and not too sweet. Hubs really enjoyed the chocolate coconut croissant as well as it was full of chocolate and the coconut flavor really came through. I love Halekulani's coconut cake, but at $14/slice!l?!? - had to pass it up. We'd definitely return, though, to try the other pastries.

Found this place off an Instagram reel for their NY-Style Croisant Donut, and I'd say the cronut was...not bad! Their flavor rotates every day, and while the gold flake was a cool addition, but the frosting itself was a little too wax texture for my liking, and if there was an option to get the pastry warmed, I wasn't made aware of it. But if you can get past that, the cronut itself was pretty well layered and I couldn't get enough the cream filling inside. I did get lost for a bit trying to find the actual bakery since it's on the back side of the Halepuna Waikiki, but inside, they had a wide selection of other pastries and goods that looked honestly just as or even more appetizing as the NY Cronut. They have both self service and behind glass pastries/cakes, and overall ordering was pretty smooth with their workers being super helpful and quick with it. Definitely a more casual spot to for a light breakfast and coffee with friends.

When I'm out of town I won't post much, but sometimes I step out for that special someone. Halekulani you did it. I could have easily posted a Leaonard's review, but that almost feels cliche. A hot Malassada? Yeah it's perfection. This place though? It had a plethora of heavy hitters. I was taken back. I didn't know what to do. I went with this viral croissant guy naturally but I had a stupid good salted croissant too. Totally different vibe than the one in the picture but similar eliteness. In an area rife with bakery options, I can't say you will find any better than this. (4.8 Stars)
