Honu’s Kalbi & Sushi on Kapahulu makes some pretty good food.
I ordered the Honu Special which had Kalbi, Meat Jun, Fish Jun and Mandoo. Heavy plate, big portion perfect for sharing.
The star of the show is the Kalbi. I would order that on its own next time. They also had sushi which looked pretty good. I’ll be back for sure!
I had the kalbi plate and it was very tasty but I thought the kalbi had too much grizzel and the meat didn't come off the bone. But I'm just being picky I guess because I've had better. Nice place, probably will try it again.
Huge portions and delicious! Parking is available on site.
I ordered some nigiri and the fish quality was very subpar. I found a little bone in one of the pieces (something I’ve never experienced anywhere else) and the salmon was hard to chew.
Quite good food. $80 for 4 full meals and we still had leftovers. It is mostly Korean themed with som sushi. Parking is a little tight, but it’s do-able. I’d go back. Really likes the Beef teriyaki (essentially bulgogi), kalbi and chicken teriyaki. Nice outdoor seating.
The food was great!
I saw the video by @tommy_eats on instagram that this place updated their meat jun recipe, and can confirm that it tastes good now! Had good marinated flavor before using sauce. Dine in area is still nice and clean.
Wow, I went to Hanauma Bay and went to a sushi and rib restaurant run by a Korean owner and ordered assorted raw fish. The tuna, salted fish, and yellowtail were really delicious and I was so happy eating them with Soeju and Kwak. The day before I return, it's amazing. Thank you. It's so delicious.

I wish we would have found this place our first night here instead of our last! Both the Kalbi and the sushi was absolutely delicious, fresh and left me wanting more. Also, at about $25 a person (for what’s pictured), it feels like a pretty good deal in Waikiki! Definitely don’t skip this spot.

Wow best value plate lunch spot on the island!
I randomly walked into this spot because my wife wanted a coconut matcha next door.
And boy did I get lucky! This place is a hidden gem.
10/10 plate lunch. I got the snow wings. 10 wings, rice, and 4 sides for $15!
I also tried 4 pieces of super fresh ahi nigiri and their kimbab. It was all great!
