Walked in for lunch and I tired the lunch special and the uni hand roll. The rice was gently fried on the pan and then served with uni. The beef Katsu was flavorful!I hope to come again for the full multi course menu!

We really enjoyed this restaurant. Great omakase and a very reasonable price. Hidden but we enjoyed the very relaxing atmosphere. Very good variety of sushi and sashimi. Executive sushi chef Kakuya Kunihiko was vey nice and is from Hokaido. Highly recommended.

The chef was very sweet and amazing at his job! It was a very intimate atmosphere as you got to see him make the food and served right in front of you. The food tasted amazing and sooo fresh! My first omakase experience and definitely worth it! The yuzu sherbet at the end was so ono. Since we were the last customers, chef walked us out and watched us leave and bid us a goodbye. Gives me very warm family vibes and he exceeded expectations. Love the overall experience

Five stars for the lunch omakase! Super delicious high quality sushi experience. It felt like I was in Japan again. Very relaxing and quiet with a few seats at the sushi bar. The sushi chef provided a written English translation of what we were eating. He was kind and professional. I can't wait to go back again!

We loveeeee Japan and had greatly been missing the culture, the food and the artistry of real teppanyaki. I am so glad my husband found this place on Google (as they are not on yelp). The lunch menu is delicious and affordable. The teppanyaki chef is immaculate with his craft and the quality of the food is incredible. We ordered the steak lunch and the hamburger over rice and the sea urchin hand roll as an appetizer. The sake menu was extensive and had so many options for Ginjo, Junmai and Daiginjo. What a great addition to the restaurant scene on Oahu! We can’t wait to come back and try the sushi side.Arigato gozaimas to the team at i-naba Hanalei!

I-naba's lunch sushi omakase was great. Very good for the price and the setting is nice. Sushi chef was also very nice, didn't speak English but still had a little chat with broken Japanese

Beautiful and skillful presentation. Very fresh and tasty courses. Wagyu melts in mouth. Clam soup is unique and delicious.

We tried both Teppanyaki and Sushi set, actually we only reserved for Teppanyaki first, but immediately decided to cancel our original plan and tried its sushi lunch set next day! It’s out of our expectation, to be clear, I visited Japan for many times, not regular “first time Japanese cuisine” person, and also tasted Sushi Sho a year ago. Still, i-Naba is definitely top notch kind of hidden gem in Hawaii! Not saying it’s best of world class, but very authentic and at least best of Hawaii class! Both Teppanyaki and Sushi chefs are so dedicated, and trained for very long time knowing what to do for the job. No fancy trick, (yeah, I’m saying downtown popular ones), food are both fresh and top class, way more worthy than the price! This place will be on my must visit list in Hawaii!

Great sushi for a reasonable price at lunch. Small 7-seat counter makes you feel special and able to converse with the sushi chef. I felt like I was in Japan.

Me and my friend just walked in. We didn't have a reservation and they were kind enough to let us in and sit on the sushi side. Their lunch menu is a great deal! $42/person for 10 sushi and miso soup. I definitely think it is worth it! Also it was delicious!! The chef didn't speak fluent English and that was okay! He was kind enough to try tell us what kind of finish we were eating. He even had a paper that showed it in English if you are curious on what kind of fish you are eating. The ambiance was nice! It was just me and my friend for a while but as we finished our course, a couple came in and the chef started to help them. I highly recommend coming here for lunch. I look forward on eating on the other side of the restaurant next time. :)
