Reserved the upper level for a 95th Birthday Luncheon Banquet. The staff was very cooperative prior to the actual date of event; however, what was supposed to have been done was not. No microphone stand, the 20 person table was not removed/exchanged (for 2-10person tables), tables were not set up ahead of time (when I arrived, 30 minutes prior to the start time, to set up), 75% correct on what was planned for and requested; even tho' we had verified this prior to the event date & time. Disappointed with that aspect, service was average, but food was really good!

The dim sum at Mandalay is a good standard Chinese food place for the business community and they have takeout on the side too.

An excellent choice of dim sum. Wide selection and very fresh. The quality is consistent and service is efficient and friendly.

While in town for business, I recently enjoyed a lunch with some colleagues at Mandalay. They have a large menu of dumplings, pork buns, and other small bites, in addition to larger plates of standard and non-standard entrees. We primarily ordered small bites and shared, and we also had a large plate of noodles. Everything was terrific, but the BBQ pork buns really stood out! loved the shrimp dumplings as well! Great service and atmosphere. I’d absolutely recommend this place for lovers of Chinese food.

Very good dim sum, fast and easy. Great for business meetings, taking people visiting or to grab a quick bite.

upscale and updated version of the traditional cantonese chinese food in hawaii. cost is very reasonable for downtown honolulu, atmosphere is welcoming and service was very good.. we were there on a weekday for lunch, so it wasn't very crowded, although i suspect dimsum brunch on the weekends will be... many dishes to choose from, each delicious... also good noodles... always go by noodles to judge a chinese restaurant...... can't find this style of cooking except on the east and west coast cities..there is nothing like this in the midwest.

Just two of us ordered pepper salt pork chops, black bean chicken and yang chow fried rice. It was fast service and everything was very tasty!

This is a great place to go for dim sum. Located in downtown with a take out/express adjacent to the restaurant. We ordered a dozen different types of dim sum including the siu mai, char siu bao, fried turnip cake, potstickers and egg custard. All were delicious. Fast service.

Whenever I walk near this place, it's almost alway busy, especially during breakfast and lunch. It could be because of the business crowd and this place definitely caters to them. The prices are cheap for the area and the pictures look good. Decided to try a steak plate a little after lunch hour when the crowd died down. They took my order and said that it might take a while since they are making it to order. I was happy to hear that since I knew that the food was made fresh. About 10-15 minutes later, I got my order. When I took it home I was a little disappointed. The food didn't quite look like the dish. The plate didn't seem as full as advertised. The salad that came with it was fresh and the dressing was good. The rice was ok. Overall, if you want relatively cheap eats, this place is pretty good.

Another family favorite Chinese restaurant. Dim sum at lunch time always excellent, favorite dim sum is the pork hash and all the shrimp items especially the shrimp w/look fun roll. All the noodles is great especially the seafood cake noodles. If crab is your thing, call in advance regard crab availability and pre-order their salt & pepper Dungeness crab. If you like duck, order the Peking duck w/steam bun, magnific!.

After you grind, Today at NOON (Tues., May 24), walk up the street to Office of Elections, 235 S. Beretania, and see the rally for Linda Lingle for US Senate as she files paperwork with sign-wavers!
