I love the pork floss buns from here and their milk tea is one of the best on island! I like it a lot because the boba balls are consistently soft, the drink is sweet but not too sweet (I usually get 50% sugar though), and they don't put an overwhelming amount of ice into their drink! Their mango smoothie is also super Ono - not too icy ... more creamy! Can't wait to come back

I recommend this place for pastries but not for ordering a cake. This bakery has really cute and tasty desserts, but I recently had a less than great experience. I had ordered a chocolate and strawberry cake about a week before I needed it. It was for a birthday. I picked out the flavor, requested the writing on the top, specified the pick-up time, and paid for the cake in full. After we had picked up the cake and cut it, we found that it was a vanilla cake instead of chocolate. At this point, we were already at lunch and needing dessert, so we just cut the cake and ate about half of it. Later that day, I called the bakery about their mistake, and I provided a picture of the vanilla cake as well as a picture of my order ticket and receipt as proof that I did not get what I ordered. They were somewhat apologetic, but they didn't offer any remedy. Instead, they asked what I wanted them to do. I did not want a new cake, as the occasion had already passed, so I asked for a refund or store credit. They said that I could have a refund but only if I came back and returned the rest of the cake! I was surprised at this because I had already given clear proof that it was the bakery's mistake and not mine. The only purpose of them taking back the rest of the cake was to inconvenience me, since I had already given proof of their mistake. I was irritated that I had to make a special trip to return the cake, and they were not very apologetic or speedy in processing my refund.

Baked goods are mediocre at best. With so many other outstanding bakeries within a short walk, I'm not sure what the appeal is.

The bread is a constant reminder that Taiwan is on my heart. I love that bread. I can sit there and have delicious drinks and authentic Taiwanese bakery baked goods. They sell cakes too. Besides Starbucks, 7-11, getting jiPai (chicken cutlet), I loved getting bakery baked goods when I lived in Taiwan!

Fantastic baked goods like Chinese style buns and cakes. My favorite is the taro cream roll for $6.50...the creamy taro filling is divine and the sponge cake is so light and fluffy. We also enjoy their strawberry mochi at $5.50 each....lots of fresh cream slice of sponge cake and a lovely strawberry all wrapped up by this chewy mochi layer on the outside. Absolutely delicious but just a little pricey, imho.Service is also excellent. Since our apartment is across from the bakery, I went back for their taro roll but they were out. The girl said they can make one up for me for the next day .....so accomodating ! We appreciate it their help ...all for just a little roll.During our visit for the month, we must have visited JJ Bakery at least 3 times and will do so again when we return on our next visit.

Aloha everyone! ? Got a new review for you! Recently, my Sister and Nephew grabbed a few goodies for me from JJ SQUARED Bakery. I liked it. So did my the rest of the family. My nephew had a slice of their Chocolate Cake with Strawberries and their Baked Cheese Toast. My Sister had a Coconut and Raisin Bun, they got my mom a Ham Bacon and Cheese Roll (savory) and I had a Brown Sugar Walnut Bread (my personal favorite-very fluffy and soft also good with soup or turned into a sandwich), Curry Beef Pie (real bits of beef, strong curry flavor), Pineapple Buttermilk Bun and Green Tea Almond Cookies (nice with hot tea) prices are reasonable. If you’re already in the area, come and check them out, you might find something you like.

Rivals some of the best pineapple cakes from Taiwan itself. Highly recommend for this product alone.

This bakey is by far the best I've ever been to! I highly recommend anyone to visit. The cake I ordered is phenomenal & taste amazing, made exactly as i requested. I didn't expect it to have strawberries on the inside, and it was a wonderful birthday surprise for my daughter! It's definitely not a basic cake that you get from any overpriced cake shop. Also suggest you try their honey oolong tea & tuna ham sandwich, I order it nearly every time I go! Enjoy!

Sweet treat squared away...Located on the ground floor in the Pacific Guardian Tower which sits on the very busy corner of Kapiolani and Keeaumoku is this delightful bakery. JJ2 has basically remained the same throughout time and though the baked goods are not really my cup of tea, the variety of teas they have here make me happy to spill the tea on their sips.Really haven't been here in awhile to be honest as parking has always been a challenge and with the surrounding ongoing construction hasn't exactly made this location very inviting though on Sundays does make it a bit bearable with free street parking and a bit of sweet cravings made me think it was time to revisit JJ2.It has changed a tad bit over the years since my last visit but they still have a display case filled with various cakes which is exactly what I was looking for, and it was the single last piece of Strawberry Chantilly staring me down and to pair it with a plain and simple Wintermelon Tea.Loving that they do have a few seating inside to chill and relax, so I took that opportunity to do so and enjoyed my treats, the cake was very delicate with the strawberry buttery filling between three delicate sponge cakes is topped with fresh fruits and a piece of chocolate...yum! The decor feels dated like nothing much really had been done since forever, the staff was just there nothing really more to say than I've taken care of my cravings.Thank you!
