Been here about 5 times already. Always great service and great food. I unique but delicious curry. I love that they offer more curry for no charge, but you should use your curry before asking for more. Perfect portions.

My only nitpicking complaint would be that my kid was disappointed there were no toys available the day we went (may 24), and was offered a canned drink instead.

Early dinner tonite ...Perfectly freshly fried tonkatsu paired with a nice meat curry sauce. And kind courteous people. Highly recommend trying. Wife loved her crab croquets. All fried just right.

Dined in the other day since friends had good things to say about this place. Free parking available in the back of the restaurant until 5pm.

Walked in and got seated immediately, there are only two people working here and from Japan so should be good, right? Well I was wrong.

Ordered a crab cream croquette curry and waited about 25 minutes for it since there were people ahead of me waiting. When i thought I was going to be served the lady said she made a mistake and gave it to the next table.

Asked for water when i ordered the food but had to wait another 10 minutes before it was put in front of me.

When the plate came out, I wasnt impressed. Thought the croquettes would be handmade but looked like it was the frozen ones you get at the store. Curry was okay, nothing special to write home abour. Some small meat slivers and overcooked carrots inside, but thats it.

Had to wait again and ask for more water and the check.... Surprisingly bad service for a Japanese restaurant which is rare. Hate to see this place operate when its really busy. Never again...2 stars ?

Best Japanese curry in Honolulu! If you're a fan of Japanese curry - you need to eat here ? The portions are huge. The crispness of the fried katsu pieces are crunchy and yum. The hospitality of the hosts are what also makes it a standout. ? plus the croquettes are divine. We had heaps of fun here!

Wonderful food and service! Reminds me of the small cafe restaurants that I used to frequent when I lived in Japan. Nice homey atmosphere with delicious curry.

3 pax. Made a reservation through google maps for 5:45p. Only two tables occupied with one table on the way out. By the time we left around 6:50p, the place was packed. Had leftover food to take home. Service was incredible (Japanese standards). We will definitely be back again!

We ordered:

Fried Chicken Curry
Omelette Curry (recommended)
Curry Special (Tonkatsu, Oyster, Spam, Shrimp, Gyoza)
Cream Curry Croquette (no photo ?)
Curry Pan

Parking: Parking is in the back of building (parallel to King). Enter either through King or Keʻeaumoku

Ate here twice so far and loved it. They give you a little stamp card with a stamp for every $10 spent which you can redeem for freebies.

It is not too dissimilar to CoCo Ichibanya in terms of portion and offerings, but if I had to compare the two, I'd probably say I prefer the curry here. There's also a few more unique offerings like the cream sodas and curry pan here.

They're both good places to eat, but if you'd prefer to support a local business with incredibly friendly staff, this is definitely the place to go. They also offer you extra curry when they see your plate is running low. And while I haven't found that I needed it, it's a nice gesture.
