Dined in the other day since friends had good things to say about this place. Free parking available in the back of the restaurant until 5pm.

Walked in and got seated immediately, there are only two people working here and from Japan so should be good, right? Well I was wrong.

Ordered a crab cream croquette curry and waited about 25 minutes for it since there were people ahead of me waiting. When i thought I was going to be served the lady said she made a mistake and gave it to the next table.

Asked for water when i ordered the food but had to wait another 10 minutes before it was put in front of me.

When the plate came out, I wasnt impressed. Thought the croquettes would be handmade but looked like it was the frozen ones you get at the store. Curry was okay, nothing special to write home abour. Some small meat slivers and overcooked carrots inside, but thats it.

Had to wait again and ask for more water and the check.... Surprisingly bad service for a Japanese restaurant which is rare. Hate to see this place operate when its really busy. Never again...2 stars ?

Best Japanese curry in Honolulu! If you're a fan of Japanese curry - you need to eat here ? The portions are huge. The crispness of the fried katsu pieces are crunchy and yum. The hospitality of the hosts are what also makes it a standout. ? plus the croquettes are divine. We had heaps of fun here!

Wonderful food and service! Reminds me of the small cafe restaurants that I used to frequent when I lived in Japan. Nice homey atmosphere with delicious curry.

3 pax. Made a reservation through google maps for 5:45p. Only two tables occupied with one table on the way out. By the time we left around 6:50p, the place was packed. Had leftover food to take home. Service was incredible (Japanese standards). We will definitely be back again!

We ordered:

Fried Chicken Curry
Omelette Curry (recommended)
Curry Special (Tonkatsu, Oyster, Spam, Shrimp, Gyoza)
Cream Curry Croquette (no photo ?)
Curry Pan

Parking: Parking is in the back of building (parallel to King). Enter either through King or Keʻeaumoku

Ate here twice so far and loved it. They give you a little stamp card with a stamp for every $10 spent which you can redeem for freebies.

It is not too dissimilar to CoCo Ichibanya in terms of portion and offerings, but if I had to compare the two, I'd probably say I prefer the curry here. There's also a few more unique offerings like the cream sodas and curry pan here.

They're both good places to eat, but if you'd prefer to support a local business with incredibly friendly staff, this is definitely the place to go. They also offer you extra curry when they see your plate is running low. And while I haven't found that I needed it, it's a nice gesture.

Would give a 5.5 for the tonkatsu curry alone. The service was excellent from walking in the door and the food was made fresh and quick. This sets the standard for curry, yet prices are generous.

Authentic Japanese curry. If you’re thinking of Coco Ichiban, come here instead! Service was friendly and the food came out fast. The portions are generous. Remember to ask for a stamp card on the way out.

Recently, I’ve been trying to avoid fried foods so I was glad to see plain curry on the menu. The spiciness was just enough to make you sweat, perfect. I’ll be back to try their curry udon and ramen.

Did a take out - got two - the kaki (oyster) curry and the vegetable croquette curry.
I like coedo curry - but what got my attention first is the name of the restaurant - as soon as I saw it I started to repeat the poem in my head- Jugem Jugem Gokou no Surikire - and before I knew it I was standing inside this hole-in-the-wall restaurant.
The Coedo curry did not disappoint - it was thick and full of flavour. At the price point I should probably have gotten their "Deep-Fried All-Star Rally" - the Jugem Special - though - so maybe next time.
Good rice is a must for the complete curry-rice experience - and they did good in that department as well.
OH and their "Crispy Coedo Cheese Curry Bread" - is awesome. Initially hesitated because of the price - but the thing is tasty and justifiably huge (I placed chopsticks next to it for size comparison - not because I ate it with chopsticks - not that you shouldn't eat it with chopsticks)- so no complaints.
Yes, I've totally fried-food-ed myself here - but there is no regret.

The curry is delicious, friendly, and the price is good.
If you don't have enough curry, it's okay to give more.
I like Kids Meal because it provides toys.

Yay a place in town to get very tasty Japanese curry! Service here was wonderful - the lady who helped me was so attentive and kind, checking up on whether we needed more water, needed more curry sauce…The curry was yummy and had a fair amount of beef and vegetables in itself. I also ordered takoyaki fries, but would not order again as I think they may have been slightly undercooked — the inside was too wet. I like that they offered a second (free) serving of curry sauce and have a stamp card! The restaurant is small and does feel cramped when it’s full. Parking is available in the lot behind this place, and it’s free. I will happily return here.
