If you want the best, most delectable shortbread cookies in the world, come here! I met the owner today and she is the nicest person you will ever meet. Her cookies blow away all others including a brand that named themselves after a city on Oahu. No comparison. Bought 5 bags to go home to California with me and might have to stop in again because I may eat them all they are that good!

While I did not go to K D Cafe, I did purchase their coconut cookies at one of the Pearl Harbor gift shops. I am now home in Pasadena and just ate my last one. They are so, so good! I am a home baker/cook so I am pretty picky. If you can't make it better than me, I'm not wasting the calories. I'm going to have to contact them to see if I can have some shipped to me!

This little family run take out Cafe was an amazing surprise. I had an appointment with Dwayne in his adjacent office. When I walked in I was greeted by the wondrous smell of buttery baked goods. I don't have a sweet tooth, but the shortbread butter cookies were calling to me. I picked up a small package to try, and would rate them as the Best shortbread I've had from anywhere in the Islands or around the world including Scotland and England. Buttery, crisp and incredibly light, they melted in your mouth. I've had to ration 2 at a time to make them last for this trip. I thought they said these amazing cookies were sold at the airport, but no success in Honolulu or Maui. I'll have to call and figure out to get more. There were other types of cookies that I'd enjoy trying and sharing with friends and families. So Ono!
