Perfect spot after hiking Manoa Falls. About 12 minutes away. Food was fresh - their garlic chicken was ? chimichurri was ? ?

Absolutely delicious. We had some of the items already reviewed but the star of the show for me was a special cheesy risotto. Bomb little food stop now on my list forever.

I'm on a Kahai Street Kitchen Kick & I just gotta say, I LOVE THE STAFF HERE. I'm adding a zero to my previous review. 1000/100 ‍

Great food. A little on the pricey side but everything is more expensive now. Think of this place as the Whole Foods of plate lunches. Loco moco was delicious and the steak risotto was ono and they gave a lot of risotto. The fresh catch - Mahi was moist and flavorful. Service is ok - friendly but had to repeat the order a couple of times on the phone. Wish they had online ordering, plus they don't include what sides are available on the website. Limited parking and sitting area on the park benches. Basically a take out place. Highly recommended that you call in your order as there is usually a wait time.

The guava barbecue brisket plate was incredible: super tender and tasty! Potato-mac salad also perfect. All at a great price with friendly service. Definitely recommend!

We catered 3 main dishes for a party of 30. Food was delivered. It was delicious, we've been using them for years and will continue to. We have also catered plate lunches and it's always been delicious!

Love seeing the message written on our lunches. My workplace orders lunch here once or twice a week. Good portions for what you pay. Much appreciation to every worker there putting the love into what they do. They have a take out window if your trying to make a fast drive to grab lunch.

Called in my order after looking over the specials of the day. Truffle bacon burger ordered and they kindly shared it will be about 20 min. I liked how they were very attentive to the phones. I pulled up ans parked in some undesignated stalls just to the left of the outdoor seating becauase I didnt see any street parking. My order was ready and packed with a nice mele kalikimaka message. I wished there was utensils because i would've liked to cut the sandwich. But the person was on the phone taking an order as I picked up and paid. It was tasty and wish i couldve left a better review but it was so so salty. The fries and the burger. There is lettuce and tomato on the bottom under the burger and it made it made the bun super soggy and hard to hold.

I don't know why I've never heard of this place before when it's basically in my neighborhood!! My coworker recommended it to me for takeout because he had worked with the owner back in the day at L'Uraku. The food was really good!! The broccoli was yummy and garlicky. The Mac salad was one of the best I've had. The pork katsu was nice and tender - so many places have such dry pork. The only thing that was kind of strange was the garlic chicken, which was drenched in sauce and not crispy like I'm used to. My husband really liked his braised boneless beef shortrib plate. So delicious. Can't wait to come here again and try other dishes!! I bet they are all great.

I went for a quick lunch around 2pm on a Wednesday. There was no line, and I was able to order right away. Be sure to check the daily specials when you get to the window to order. They have shaded seating outside and a bare-bones indoor seating area. I ordered the hurricane chicken with white rice and mac salad on the side. The food was ready in about 10 minutes. Normally, they will call your name and order number from the window, but I sat inside because it was raining, and they brought the food to my table. The mac salad was average. The chicken was quite sweet, and I couldn't really taste the sauce they'd drizzled on top or the furikake, but it was still delicious, and I would order it again.

I don't hang out in Town, but I was in for work. A go-to for plate lunch. Had LocoMoco combo, chicken was good & hand-made patties??, instead of using pre-made frozen burger patties. Also had the NY strip (Thai peanut sauced) the steak was medium-well (not my style) but the sauce was good.

Update: This is a rare example wrong turned right. Keoni reached to me sincerely wanting to make it right. He remade fish tacos that came out well and added one portion of his special fish dish which was spectacular. Very happy with my second experience and hope the quality will stay the same next time I'm back. Thank you. Title: Disappointed and Hungry I recently visited Kahai Street Kitchen on September 20th, just before closing, and had an experience that left me less than satisfied. I purchased two plates, eager to indulge in what I hoped would be a delightful meal. While the Garlic Chicken Plate was good, the Soft Shell Fish Taco was a complete disappointment. The fish in the taco was noticeably not fresh and had an overpowering "fishy" taste. The inside of the tacos was excessively "wet", making the overall texture and flavor highly unappetizing. Both my companion and I attempted to eat it, but we ended up spitting it out after just one bite. I tried to address the issue by calling the restaurant, only to be informed that the manager was "busy". I left a message, hoping for a prompt response, but no one returned my call that day or the next. This lack of customer service added to my dissatisfaction. In the end, I had no choice but to discard the inedible fish taco plate. My companion and I shared the mini Garlic Chicken Plate, but it wasn't enough. We were left feeling somewhat hungry, which is not the experience I'm looking for when I choose to order out instead of cooking myself. In conclusion, my experience at Kahai Street Kitchen was far from ideal. The quality of the food was inconsistent, and the lack of responsiveness from the management was frustrating. I hope others have a better experience, but I, for one, will be thinking twice before returning.

Always a great meal! This time we went for Sunday brunch and everything was delicious, especially the house made brisket hash
