Food is not what one expects for classic dim sum. First, pieces, dumplings are too huge. Shanghai soup dumplings came in mini tin pans. Never experienced. Char Siu Paw is 90% paw and 10% horrible pork. When asked the waiter, I got a sparky reply. If looking for reliable classic dim sum go to Dynasty or even Tim Ho Wan is okay.

The worst egg tarts I've ever tried. Everything was so greasy and oily, such as Beijing duck, Siew mai. Fried rice was so salty. The intestines tasted so weird as it was cooked in a very unusual way. Very disappointed as most of my friends here told me this is the best Chinese restaurant in town, if they were asked.

Kapiolani Seafood is known during the day for their dim sum. It's one of the few places I like dim sum from...
This time, we went at dinner time, chinese new year day and had the 8 course dinner. It was good, but nothing stood out...definitely a nice change from eatting another place, the past couple of years. Lol
Favorite dishes are the egg shrimp noodles, sweet and sour fried fish, egg soup, and honey Walnut shrimp. Dishes came out of order, the jelly fish and char sui came out separately (suppose to be together) and I forgot to take a photo of the dessert. It was a sweet bean soup.
Service was crazy...ngl They were under staff and very busy. Along with many waiting outside. On a normal day it's not that bad.
Atmosphere was good...unlike most Chinese restaurants, interior is clean and well kept. Best of all, we saw the lion dance performance.

Solid choice for dim sum with generous portions. Most of the dim sum dishes we ordered were tasty and satisfying - none of them stood out as mind blowing.
One or two of the dim sum dishes were not to our taste - not sure if this was due to a difference in style or if they just didn’t have a good day for the dish.
The whole steamed fish was very enjoyable and the whole steamed oysters were cooked just right.
The dining room is spacious and very clean. The servers are attentive.

This is a fine dining Chinese restaurant. Service is great, the food is delicious, very clean, and the ambiance is welcoming. The only complaint I have is they don't quite follow instructions of how you want your food cooked. I'm not sure if it's the server not relaying the instructions or the cook just sticking to their way of cooking. For example The lobster, I wanted it steamed plain, and with some melted butter, instead they had some kind of ginger garlic paste sauce they totally missed it here. Everything else was delicious. The ung choy, was off putting, they had some bright green and old looking pieces here not very appealing. Their prices are reasonable.

Parking: fronting the restaurant and as of 11/19/2024 when I visited the credit union shut down so all parking became available.
Dim sum: you have the must haves such as shrimp dumplings and pork ribs. We tried the scallion pancake which was excellent. We also had black bean clams which were pretty good ($22). I didn’t care too much for one the dishes but overall very good.
I would love to return one day for dinner!

Ate here in a Monday and we were disappointed. Was it Sunday leftovers? Only the pork shumai was piping hot; the taro puffs & look fun were lukewarm/day old taste. Maybe best for dinner? Our high hopes were dashed.

excellent tasting dimsum — the shrimp dumplings and the chicken feet were to die for. we also got oysters which were large but not that flavorful. the service is impeccably slow though, and it is understaffed. they also don’t serve alcohol.
Food wasn’t warm or hot when served
We came here for lunch as a group one afternoon. I think the biggest issue for me was that someone else at our table ordered for the whole table and I didn’t get a lot of what I would have wanted. Everything we had pretty much had shrimp in it (which I love) but I would have definitely chosen other things as well if given the chance. The server was friendly but the service itself was slow. The place was very crowed and we ordered a good bit so that’s understandable. Nothing that I ate was extremely good, but all just ok. It was fun to try new things though. I’d give it another shot and order for myself for a hopefully more pleasant experience.
