M & N Filipino Restaurant, located on North King Street near Tamashiro Market, is a small, family-owned place that offers home-style Filipino cooking. The cozy interior seats around 10 customers, and street parking can be limited. Known for its authentic flavors, the restaurant serves a variety of Filipino dishes, including Lechon Kawali, Papaya chicken & Pig feet soup, Inado, and pinapaitan. Customers love the Lechon Kawali, which is cooked to order and served hot and crispy, and the Papaya chicken & Pig feet soup, though some find the sauce a bit salty. The pinapaitan is highly recommended for those who enjoy traditional Filipino flavors.
The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The menu features main dishes, drinks, and desserts, offering something for everyone. Many regulars praise the consistent taste and authenticity of the food. Dine-in provides a step back in time with a 70's vibe and a glimpse into a Laoag provincial neighborhood, making the experience feel like a trip to the Philippines. Visitors should be aware of a 3% surcharge on credit card payments and limited street parking. Prices for 2- and 3-choice plates can be as high as $16, depending on the menu.
