I never expect airports to offer high quality food, but this wasn’t bad at all, especially considering how many vegetables they offered in some of their meals. I also liked their waitstaff and that you were able to either order with them for a full service experience, or through a QR code so you can order, pay and go at your leisure.
We ordered the teriyaki chicken rice bowl, which had lots of stir fried carrots, onions and green beans, along with some pickled radish. The chicken was juicy and there was a fair amount of it. We also had the furikake crusted ahi salad, which also featured the same vegetables along with a spring mix, and cherry tomatoes, though it needed more of them. The vegetables were surprisingly fresh, no wilted bits to be seen. However, the ahi tuna was very obviously prepared earlier and simply heated up because the middle was cold and the outside barely warm. It would have been great if they took a minute to flash sear it before serving again because the outside wasn’t crispy at all. You can honestly put the chicken on top of that salad and have a great combination since so many of the vegetables and salad dressing pair well together.
The lilikoi mango cheesecake was out of this world delicious! It punches you right in the mouth with tart and sweet and cream from the whipped cream all at once. I literally licked the plate at the end.

I never leave reviews but this was so awful that I just had to say something. I was seated at a table but was left sitting there for over 20 minutes. I tried to order through the QR code on the table, but it wasn't working and it asked me to wait for a server. When I flagged one down, she dismissed me and told me to wait for my server...who wasn't coming (no one else even walked near my section). Wish I could say something about the food, but I never got the chance to try it.
Edit: Just go to the food court on the other side of the terminal for food. They're faster, more helpful, and kinder.

Great place to go when waiting on a flight. The bar/restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly and chatted jtst the right amount of time, such as showing geniune interest but not talking while we ate. We had an early flight, but thus place does not have breakfast items. My husband tried the footlong dog, and it was delicious! Yes, he shared. It comes with a wide and long hotdog, the meat is delucious, pineapple, ketchup, and green onions on a Hawaiian bun. We believe that nobody, but nobody, puts ketchup on a hotdog, but we both loved it on this menu item. Of course, we added mustard and he puts Sir on everything. I had the pork potstickers, and they were okay.

We ordered loco moco and classical cheese burger, the beef patty in both are soooooooo dry and chewy, they are pre made for fast serving, but almost lost all beef flavor. The bbq baby rib is similarly dry. Surprisingly the fries are really good.

They have refrigerators and warming ovens with food available, but when I bought my food I couldn’t sit down at a table with it because they have a different menu for that area. Wish they’d made that more clear because I would have gladly ordered freshly cooked food that over the microwaved meal I bought. They kicked me out halfway through eating my crappy and expensive microwaved Mahi. This place sucks.
Been waiting for my to go order, service sucks when she couldnt even take my sandwich order correctly. Ended up paying for something I have never ordered, she goes to her manager saying “oh i think i messed up, you should wait more” and then brings me the new check saying the other one was voided and its different. At this point i did not take a thing, asked for my void receipt to get the money back which they could not provide. And when i was getting out she says “yeah you made it for nothing” to the kitchen staff. What exactly did I do wrong when I said my boarding has started and I am in rush, there is probably a reason for me to get my food to go instead of eating it there.
Service -10000.
Only bad poke I've had in my life. The loco moco looked not awful

Trying to get a meal before I jump on a 8 hour flight and chose California rolls thinking it would be fresh or at least presentable. The avocados in the rolls are clearly past traditional expiration date as they look mushy and overripe with dark brown color. I have come to the conclusion for $15.99 that its not worth the risk for human consumption before jumping on an 8 hour flight.
Establishment looks nice, staff seem abit annoyed with 0 hospitality and menu is over priced with no photos of the selection. I see why it has 3.5 stars. Lesson learned, will be skipping this restaurant next time I travel this way.
Good stop for some food inside the airport. Nothing special just good at everything.
Paying higher price at airport was expected but presentation of Bloody Mary was ....
Service was good though.
Makai Plantation at Honolulu Airport (Gates C) is where island vibes meet airport prices that make your wallet cry. The setting is actually pretty relaxing for a terminal, but the menu is a masterclass in daylight robbery. A beer costs as much as a six-pack and a glass of wine might as well come with a vineyard.
The ahi sushi poke? Twenty-five bucks for one lonely scoop and a handful of chips. It’s less “meal” and more “expensive appetizer that makes you wish you packed a granola bar.” Great place to sit and wait for your flight, but eat and drink elsewhere unless you’re feeling fancy or forgot how much food costs in the real world.
