Ordered sweet sour pork tonight from them. Took them 2 minutes to bring out (not a good sign). The pork was tough, dry and without any sauce. Will not order that again!

I walked in to order because they don't do online orders anymore, but their prices on their website are wrong. The food was cooked quickly, but their portions have gotten much smaller, and their prices are more expensive, so its like a double whammy. I ordered the chicken with broccoli and there was more broccoli then chicken, it might have had one piece of chicken thigh cut into small pieces, usually the items in the ingredients list is most to least, so they should call it broccoli with chicken not chicken with broccoli. I also had the egg foo young with gravy and paid $40.00 for the two items. The food had a good taste. Will have to reconsider if I'll go back again. Chinese food used to be a good, inexpensive choice but has gotten so expensive now. I don't mind paying the price as long as it's a good value.

I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews for this place, so I had to write my own! My family has been to Mandarin Kitchen multiple times and we have been very satisfied each time, including today's Thanksgiving dinner. The customer service is good, they can change the dish to your liking, the food is tasty, and they are pretty quick! I suppose the prices are on the higher side, but that is completely understandable with today's cost of living prices and it's also a mom&pop shop! People on here expecting good quality chinese food for McDonald's prices dont understand how expensive it is to run a small business. I saw a lot of reviews saying the food was too salty but my family of six does not agree. Mandarin Kitchen is exactly what I expect of a local chinese food take-out restaurant - please give it a try!

Strike two. Super salty. So salty that I had to stop eating it. It'll be a while for me to give them a third try.

This restaurant is more disappointing each time I go. The only reason I go as often as I do, is because my mom really likes the mabo tofu. But the service attitude is rapidly declining. I ordered myself a plate, along with mom's, but really, I should have walked out empty handed. Today, the mabo tofu was spicy, and really salty. The sweet sout pork was like chewing on shoe leather and had the worst flavor ever. The orange chicken was overly sweet and extremely mushy. The chowfunn was the best part of my lunch. I was served the last portion in the pan. I had my doubts, but took my chances anyways. Big mistake. They will not make fresh food for the choice line until the last serving has been sold. It will sit in the warming pan until closing or, if there are lots of customers around, they'll call out to the kitchen for more. (I was alone in there when I asked for fresh food and was told no.) Even when a fresh recipe has been made, they will serve the old stuff before they serve the new. I don't think I will be back, even for mom's lunch. I'd rather drive a ways for better service and quality food. My photos were taken on a previous visit, earlier in the day. Food was still fresh. The photo of the 2 choice plate is the last day I will go. I am very sad and disappointed. :(

Do Not Buy Food From Here!! We went here yesterday 11/11/231. My son wanted fried dumplings (picture menu on their window), they gave us deep fried Gau Gee instead. He couldn't eat it. I went back inside to pick up my food the 2nd time, asked them why the difference? They said they didn't have fried dumplings.2. Main issue: I was craving for cold ginger chicken on rice. Ginger sauce was in a Togo container so I didn't pour it over my chicken, but the chicken already have weird smell, and slimy to the touch, one small bite, I knew it's old chicken. I went back and the cashier asked me if I pour the sauce over (pour the sauce over, you may not be able to tell the foul smelling). They said they would make me a new one. I told them with the chicken from the same batch? I don't want it. They said new chicken. I ate half yesterday, and was to eat the leftover today. Just opening the box, the foul smell exploded in my kitchen. Rotten. I called the restaurant to tell them to get rid of it if they have any left before they make people sick. Not acceptable. They intended to serve me bad food. The chicken today has pink/orange slim on it, slimy to the touch.

Ordered take out using their menu online. Was very pleased to see actual good pricing on their plates (ordered 3 plates and they were all listed as $10 or below on their menu) When I got there the total was $50 and was quite confused and frustrated why I was paying $20 more then the price I saw. I asked, they said they haven't updated their online menu in two years (false advertisement ?) If I knew it was going to be $16 and up a plate, I would have ordered from a nicer restaurant for the same price. Was decent food, just not worth the price. The sweet and sour pork, is mainly breading not much meat but the lo men was good.

I walked into this establishment to ask how much their roast pork and charsiu cost. I didn't understand the worker at all!! From what I heard...1 pound of roast pork was $13 and 1/2 pound would be $15. Same for charsiu, but more expensive!! I couldn't even understand even when I kept asking her to repeat it. I walked out confused. Now I read other Yelp reviews and I think I will pass. Hahaha!!

Was my go to for Chinese food since LAMS closed down. Done! overpriced and food getting mediocre at best. Last two times I ordered sweet sour pork- all fat, no meat. More like pork fat disguised in sweet sour sauce. And the won ton in soup super salty. Back to Duk Yee in Kaimuki. Gave it another try. Everything still to salty. Maybe msg....

Never going there again. Everything tasted bland. Highly over priced. The shrimp fried rice had huge chunks of (cold) white rice and very little shrimp. The sweet sour pork had over 90% pineapples. roast duck is specialty. We ordered the 1/2 duck and it was parts of different ducks thrown in the container. All the other dishes were disappointing My kid went in the store to pick up our order. He asked for utensils and napkins and the lady didn't give us any. He asked for mustard/shoyu and the same lady said they don't have that.

Caution! The Hot &Sour soup is WICKED SPICY!!! I like spicy food, but this was PAINFUL to eat!!! Even after adding some chicken broth I couldn't handle more than a couple spoonfuls. The roast pork was good.
