*Overall review: The atmosphere is good. I tried several menu items, but overall the food was short.
Came here two nights in a row, delicious food and great service
I enjoyed the food but the fish was a bit of a let down.

Food is amazing. Came here for brunch. Must get beet spread + their pita bread!!!! Service was really slow but restaurants are understaffed everywhere in Hawaii? Be prepared to enjoy a long meal and hang out w your date/friends while waiting.

Disappointing experience, Overall needs work. Although quite clean, new design with the development, Food was 6/10 not bad not great. Service was lackluster *at best, inattentive and no attempt at connection or celebration (despite our table was celebrating an engagement). Won’t stay open long if they don’t provide better service
Food was inconsistent and expensive. Play small order of french fries will cost you $12 and dinner from person cost will be over $100. There are plenty restaurants that offer good food at a fair price.

Nice place, well designed. Not good experience for the price paid. Food needs to have more flavor, creative but lack the flavor punch. Service good, atmosphere good.

I’m so incredibly disappointed in the pool delivery after having such a positive experience in house at the restaurant. I ordered a caesar salad with prawns. This is what was delivered to me pool side for over $25. Are you serious? The reasoning was “they usually reduce the salad size when they add protein… and they forgot your protein but that will be up here later.” Very disappointed.
Wow! Everything we ate was delicious! The grilled kampachi was especially amazing. The ambience and service are also top notch. This place is perfect for a special dinner.

We had an outstanding dining experience at Mara. Bobby, our server, had great recommendations and was very attentive. The food was fresh, delicious, and locally inspired. The drinks were elevated and complex but so tasty. We will be coming back and recommending to friends. We enjoyed the trio taster, octopus, oyster, monchung fish, and pavlova dessert. We loved the Tinto Viejo cocktail.

This is a not so good restaurant.
If you enter through the lobby, check in is around the corner....nooo signage indicating its location, and none of the staff will acknowledge your purpose for standing there looking lost, but hey at least another formerly lost patron told us were to go. We check in 5 mins early, the hostess tells us your table (reserved 1 week ago) is being set...10 mins go by and new excuse "the customer is paying their tab, so it should be soon". 10 mins go by again and they seat us in a totally different area than they were originally looking to dump us. I really do wonder if they get the point of reservations, because it's demeaning to be sitting there 20+ mins, watching others check in after you and getting seated before.
DRINKS: My wife and I ordered drinks... she got hers, mine never came. I settled for their shitty cold water, because I didn't want to be disappointed with the cocktail if the experience was already like this.
FOOD: prepare yourself to wait 30 to 45 mins for ehh ok tasting food. Maybe that's why they didn't serve us bread or anything during the waiting duration, it's in hopes that by the time we actually get our entree, we were to hungry to notice how mediocre it is.
And lastly this dinner was for my wife's birthday...she wasn't a happy camper.
