It was an experience like none other! We enjoyed tremendously the chef's tasting menu and wine pairing! The service was excellent and the truffles were outstanding! We are so glad we did this. It was pricey but again we were glad we did it!

I did not enjoy the good. There were two things I found tasty but the rest was not great. For the price i expected much better food.Parking: 5 spots next to the building of you can find it, there's no sign

Our dinner at Margotto was excellent. We opted for the a la carte menu and sampled two cold appetizers, two hot appetizers, two pastas, and three entrees. Every dish was delicious, with a few surprising us by how tasty they were. The wagyu tartare, complemented by truffle and egg yolk, was particularly amazing. The egg toast was not only adorable but also had a delicious sauce that tempted us to lick the plate. The pastas were also great, with truffle adding an extra dimension to the flavors. The service was very nice as well, with the staff being accommodating and making our dining experience very enjoyable.

I chose Margotto Hawaii based on the 2023 ratings. I wanted to treat my friends as a thank you for hosting me while on the island. I was able to make a reservation a few days ahead of time on OpenTable. The restaurant called me the day of to confirm the reservation and ask for the name of the person who's birthday we were also celebrating. They went above and beyond to wish my friend a happy birthday. The restaurant is quite small although there is one very large table in the front. The kitchen is open so you are able to see the chefs working. Service is top notch and includes a Sommelier (or at least a personalized wine server). We chose the tapas menu (you have the option to do a chef's tasting). The selections are small but you should be able to find something for everyone in your party. We had the egg toast which was ridiculously small and came with an even smaller "bun" for extra bread. We did choose to have some truffles with this which didn't really enhance the flavor. The pork reduction was the star with this dish. The best plate we ordered by far was the Cacio e Pepe and we added the truffle slices. This dish was bursting with flavor and the sauce was out of this world. I'd return and order two servings of this for the group. My main dish was the lobster which for the price was smaller than I expected but cooked perfectly. If you really want to splurge on a meal and price is no issue than by all means book a reservation at Margotto Hawaii.

It was a well thought out curated meal. We had the tasting menu. May have been better to include the truffle; and costs, obviously. But I can understand why it was done like it was as part of the show.

Service and food were excellent. I only eat out nowadays on special occasions and this did not disappoint, my girlfriend loved it. The dress code was "resort casual" but it felt a lot more formal inside.

The taste of the food was excellent, especially the flavor of the seasonal truffle mushrooms that were sprinkled in the food was unforgettable. Above all, thanks to the staff's explanation of each course, I think I was able to have a new experience with the food. The tableware also provided additional chopsticks in consideration of the Eastern culture, and I think it became a very memorable meal for the detailed consideration. If you want to have a very luxurious ambiance and unforgettable meal in Hawaii, I recommend Margotto Hawaii.

Do your research - read the bad reviews! My recent experience with Margotto was nothing short of a nightmare. Despite being understanding about unforeseen circumstances leading to a missed reservation, the restaurant's handling of the situation was appalling. After multiple flight delays from Kaua'i, my party and I missed our reservation. When I called to cancel, I was informed that the cancellation fee would be $40, only to discover later that they charged my card a whopping $200 instead. Attempting to address this discrepancy, I requested to speak with a manager, but was met with a dismissive and condescending attitude from the person on the phone, who had the audacity to patronize me with phrases like, "now, listen young lady," despite us being the same age. Furthermore, this so-called manager arbitrarily decided to increase the cancellation fee to $100 per person, more than doubling the charge. To add insult to injury, he accused me of yelling at him, which was a blatant attempt to deflect responsibility and save face in front of other customers. It's evident that Margotto lacks basic ethical standards and prioritizes squeezing every last penny out of its customers over providing subpar service. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I have no intention of ever setting foot in that establishment again. I urge others to steer clear of Margotto and to report their unethical practices to relevant authorities such as the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Save yourself the headache and dine elsewhere, as supporting such businesses only perpetuates their harmful behavior. This is so disappointing as we island-hop regularly to Oahu and had planned on returning to try their food. But after this experience, they are certainly NOT a business I would ever want to support. When will these new Hawaii businesses see that this is not the key to successful longevity here on the Islands. Take care of your customers. Yes, Hawai'i has a lot of visitors whom you may never see again, but a lot of us live here too. Take care of your own, and we will pay you back three-fold. Avoid Margotto at all costs.

Who knew truffles could be so much fun!?!?! I was greeted by Henry, who immediately took me to my table. On my way to my table for one, I was able to take in a view of the kitchen, the chefs looked delighted to be there which is always a good thing. My absolute favorite was the risotto with foie gras. Dominic, who I would assume was a server, but he seemed more like a guy who would get me whatever I wanted and I could have a good conversation with, was so kind and gracious. We had many laughs during my time there. Definitely a must do if you want to experience fresh truffles! They know what they are doing!Oh yes, not to mention Lee the sommelier… he paired my meal with the best Sauvignon Blanc I have ever had, very light and fresh. I highly recommend Margotto! If you want “fine” dining in Honolulu, this is your place.

We loved the pasta with truffles and the ice cream with truffle honey. We thought the service was great, but when we ordered the fish dish, it was because the waiter described it with spinach or puréed spinach, and a whole different flavor profile than when it came. so we asked the waiter that brought the fish why it looked so different and didn't have the spinach with it, and he said that the original waiter gave us the wrong description and list of spices and flavors. I then asked for some of the spinach, and he said they could not do it, because they only had enough for the plates that it was included on. It was very delicious anyway although to me a very small dish for $50 cost but I understand it is a high priced restaurant. then later we didn't have the menu anymore and I asked the same waiter who had originally described the fish wrong, about a dish with rice and caviar on it. When he was describing it, I said I thought that it was $80 on the menu and he said no it was $40. Then I said I might want to get that later if we still have room. Then we ordered it and when we got the bill it was $85. I told them about the waiter telling us it was 40 but they did not want to give me a break on the price. if he had told me it was 80 or 85 I would not have ordered it because we were going over our budget which was about $250. it was delicious, but I can just tell you that the waiter or waiters are not clear or helping me to be clear as the customer as to what I'm getting and what I'm paying.

We were there for Valentine's Day. Food and service were excellent. We didn't have much experience with truffles but that wasn't a problem because our servers did an amazing job of guiding us through the menu. Can't remember if they recommended 10 or 15 grams, but the amount of truffles we had were perfect for our meal. Will come back again to check out their a la carte menu.
