I had a very strong pregnancy craving for gyudon and didn’t know if I’d be able to find something as good as what I had when visiting Japan. Matsuzaka-Tei was just as good (and maybe even better) than what I had in Japan! I also appreciate the fair pricing, quick & friendly service, and the military discount. I will definitely be a regular customer!

Delicious authentic Japanese food! My husband lived in Japan for 2 years and said it tasted just like anything in Japan. It’s a walk up food truck type of a place. There is parking behind the restaurant that we didn’t realize was there when we first drove up. We would eat here again! Mahalo!

Went to pick up lunch for myself and coworkers. One of my coworkers ordered all the food from Door Dash app to be picked up but NOT delivered (everybody knows you can do this)
I guess the guy working was maybe the owner. Nasty attitude! He wouldn’t give me the food and I bought EXTRA food on top of it supporting his business. He only gave me the food I paid for at the register. So when I called my coworker back (the guy who ORDERED the food and NAME IS ON THE ORDER). The owner started to get aggressive me. Pointing his DIRTY finger in my face, ignoring my coworker telling him he will send confirmation of the order to me. So he takes the food and put it back. I then told him I’m not leaving till we get our food we all paid for. He then threw all the food at me and we got into a Shouting match. Told me not to come back. TRUST ME….I’m not coming back anyways because not only was his attitude NASTY. The food wasn’t even all that great. My beef was cold and so were my Gyozas.
See if the owner wasn’t so RUDE and actually listened to the people who ordered his food he wouldn’t get this review. Didn’t even finish this bowl. Wasted my money and everyone else’s money….

I was nearby so I went there for lunch. The sign says takeout, but there were a few tables and chairs in the back of the parking lot that weren't very clean, so I ate there. It was lunch time in Kalihi's factory area, so there were a lot of cars coming and going, but the traffic was fast.

If you want the nostalgia of the old Shirokia miku gyudon at a quick pull up dinner style location look no further.
I the middle of business district kalihi kai and just off Nimitz this place is the best when that nihon craving hits.
While yes the atmosphere got a 3 star, it's because I know Karens wouldn't enjoy the industrial vibe that is efficiently tucked away for ease and convenience for those in a rsuh or busy at work. Everything on the menu is great, and they even have add ons to change up your regular order. Most bowls offer 3 sizes to choose from whether your peckish is starving lols.
Parking: Just drive in next to the building
Kid-friendliness: They have taiyaki and other foods kids love

Incredible gyuudon with a variety of topping options that are all great.
The gyuudon here is super tender and flavorful, and comes with a lot of options for toppings so you can try what you like. I went with cheese and the egg, and it was incredible! Portion size is good and the price is reasonable. Tons of good stuff on the menu, for sure worth checking out.
Quality, delicious rice bowls at unbeatable prices. The restaurant is tucked away and can be easily missed, but if you so happen to stumble across it, you gotta give it a try. My favorite is the chicken bowl with extra red pepper packets. Yum!

This is a good little spot for lunch. It’s a bit of a switch up from my norm. The beef can be a little bit tough and sinewy but overall, the flavor and taste were really good. He won’t cook the egg on top any other way, so it’s going to come over easy. There is a little parking lot that also serves the restaurant next door, but there are only like three spaces and they don’t like you to cross-park, so plan you’re parking ahead of time.
