Among the different poke places I tried, this perhaps is the least fancy one. Yet, it is the most authentic and the tastiest one on the island (at least for me thus far). If you are looking for interiors and top notch waiter services, save your time. But if you are looking for fresh food with genuine flavor and local experience with ordinary people, I cannot recommend this little restaurant enough. They’re not kidding. The fish is very fresh and the poke appears freshly made throughout the day. My husband is a bit particular about the fishy smell with some poke but did not feel Poke by the Pound smelled fishy at all.On our first try, we each got the poke bowl with 2 options so we were able to try the tako, limu, and spicy ahi. My new favorite poke place. Garlic ahi is delicious and cut perfect and the tako is delightful as well. Pickles greens were crisp and complimented the poke bowl. They also make an amazing fresh tuna/salmon salad that taste so much better then canned it’s ridiculous. Thank you for the amazing lunch!
