Tasty. Comfortable. Relaxed. There are few restaurants where we want to go back, but even during dinner we starting talking about coming back to Mud Hen Water as we ate. They had friendly, attentive service, and each of the three things we ordered were solid.
The multicolor beet "poke" was refreshing and wonderfully seasoned. The hand-cut pasta with venison ragout was beyond delicious. The veal meatballs in a luscious chunky tomato compote were light and very tasty. Goat cheese cheesecake for dessert ended a marvelous, inventive meal. I'm never disappointed at MHW!
Delicious food and fantastic friendly service. We enjoyed sitting outside because it was a bit easier for my elderly dad to hear. Inside the atmosphere was really cool too though! We tried a handful of dishes—all very ono—but we most enjoyed the silken tofu with ginger and the Molokai venison ragu. The sauce with the tofu was so good I wish I could get a bottle of it to eat with all kinds of veggies. The sausage and clam dish was really great. I love clams, but the sausage...
