Sucks that theyβre gonna close down due to the stupidity of others who causes them trouble. As people we need to do better.

I always visit North Star in School Street each time I go to Honolulu. This is practically an extension of our home kitchen for authentic Ilocano cuisines.
This unassuming place is our go-to for chicharon and dinak-dakan. The best, freshest, and closest to the ones from the Philippines. I have yet to try their longanisa and see if this can be added to our go-to lists. They have other dishes that you can buy as an ala carte or part of a plate lunch to go. This is a very tiny place, so there is no dine in option. They have a limited selection of Filipino products you can peruse.
Friendly staff as always.
Parking: Parking is shared with other businesses. It's a bit hard to find parking out front, so people tend to double park. If you can't street parking, just patiently wait. Someone will come out sooner or later. It will be worth the wait, though.

Good Ilocano style food. The chicharron and pansit is tasty as well as the Guisantes.

first time coming here after hearing good things about this place, i came in at about 11:15-11:30am and it wasnβt busy, so I was glad that there was no wait. I ordered 1 1/2lb of the chicharron and also a plate lunch with pancit & adobo. The chicharron was perfectly crispy with the vinegar sauce poured on or dipped in. I love their chicharron as its skin is crisp to perfection and the meat was juicy and delicious. I also tried their Biko which was just right, not too sweet and was the perfect way to end my meal. The aunties working there were so nice and sweet, made me feel so welcomed. I recommend this place to everyone!
Filipino food. Never knew this place existed. They have all their dishes and the lady let me sample. Their chocolate meat is awesome.
Best food, awesome service, hard to get parking...

I kid you not. Looking for good food? This little mom and pop store has the best filipino food. Their pork adobo is a must. For me its one of the best pork adobo on the island and I have tasted quite a few. Check them out if you can and always support local. ?
A very conveniently placed convenience store, they've got a great selection of goods and around lunch time they've got a lot of freshly prepared delicious food.
