This is a bit of a hidden gem along the Waikiki Beach area; small, intimate, but fantastic food and service. So much so that my wife and I went there twice while we were visiting O'ahu! Oyster Shooters are a must; the sashimi was excellent and well prepared; and the garlic butter shrimp was outstanding. Highly recommended!

The food was honestly not tasty oysters and sashimi that I had. And it’s overpriced for the food. I threw up after I had oysters. I am Japanese myself so I know good oysters and seafood. For people who don’t know good seafood, they might think it’s so tasty but if you are Japanese and know good seafood, I would not recommend this restaurant.

We had a friendly and knowledgeable server! We made a reservation but it wasn’t needed. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the evening. The food was good. The restaurant is cozy and the staff are exceptional.

This is a tiny spot on lewers between Kalakaua and Kuhio. We were seated quickly after confirming we had made reservations. We got 4 orders of the Washington oysters and two orders of their clam soup. It was a lovely light dinner. Everything was delicious. It is pricey but worth it. 10 out of 10.

Oyster shooters are pretty good, a little on the salty side.

Extremely disappointed with the whole “experience.” Service was poor, food was adequate.

We had to ask for silverware and napkins after our first dish was presented. Dishes were randomly placed without proper timing.

Oysters were extremely overpriced for the quality, $28 for 6 oysters. No dozen price. Lacked freshness, intentionality and thoughtfulness.

Wagyu options were limited, majority were not on the menu, only available option was the Wagyu Short Ribs. They were extremely tender, however they were drenched in sauce and for a $55 price tag, would not get again.

The garlic chicken tasted and plated like it came from a Teriyaki shop, not an elevated restaurant.

Potatoes were overcooked — deep fried or oven roasted, however lacked flavor and presentation.

Overall, had high expectations but felt way short. Will not return, sadly. This review is not to harm the restaurant but more of an honest review. Heard the older menu was much better.

I’ve visited this place last year and the sake butter assorted seafood impressed me a quite a bit. This year, I don’t see the charming Yamamoto san and his wife and the menu has completely changed. The new menu is mediocre with the price. I would not recommend this place for my friend if they visit

We waited for 30 minutes and all they brought us were waters to the table, they weren't busy and had an attitude. Went to the Spanish restaurant underneath and service and food were 10/10!

The decor inside was very worn and tattered. The shrimp was super good and came to the table hot. The baked oysters with cheese was not good and came to the table luke warm almost cold the cheese didn't melt.

Listen, I've been to izakayas and tapas restaurants before where the kitchen doesn't pay attention to the coursing of your meal but you all still get fed in a reasonable amount of time. This wasn't that. This was 7 of us got our food and ate and waited for the last one to get his food and sat and watched him eat. The wait go out that last dish, the ribeye steak (most pricey item on the menu to boot), was insane. I finally said something to the waiter after he had made multiple "his steak will be right out" comments in passing and I was snapped back at with "it's izakaya style!" This wasn't the zero regard for western coursing you expect from izakaya places, this was 7 of us finishing our meals and then watching 1 of us eat a meal, when we had a reservation for 8 for dinner. Clearly something had happened with this dish. We also had a reservation for indoor and we were sat outdoor which after being on the beach on Maui all day wasn't what we needed, they didn't have a single fan out there. Was never offered another drink. They brought out check when my nephew had just started eating. This place is right around the corner from my apartment and I will never be back. Food was as good as anywhere else. Oh, and the steak was undercooked.
