Oyster shooters are pretty good, a little on the salty side.

Extremely disappointed with the whole “experience.” Service was poor, food was adequate.

We had to ask for silverware and napkins after our first dish was presented. Dishes were randomly placed without proper timing.

Oysters were extremely overpriced for the quality, $28 for 6 oysters. No dozen price. Lacked freshness, intentionality and thoughtfulness.

Wagyu options were limited, majority were not on the menu, only available option was the Wagyu Short Ribs. They were extremely tender, however they were drenched in sauce and for a $55 price tag, would not get again.

The garlic chicken tasted and plated like it came from a Teriyaki shop, not an elevated restaurant.

Potatoes were overcooked — deep fried or oven roasted, however lacked flavor and presentation.

Overall, had high expectations but felt way short. Will not return, sadly. This review is not to harm the restaurant but more of an honest review. Heard the older menu was much better.

I’ve visited this place last year and the sake butter assorted seafood impressed me a quite a bit. This year, I don’t see the charming Yamamoto san and his wife and the menu has completely changed. The new menu is mediocre with the price. I would not recommend this place for my friend if they visit

We waited for 30 minutes and all they brought us were waters to the table, they weren't busy and had an attitude. Went to the Spanish restaurant underneath and service and food were 10/10!

The decor inside was very worn and tattered. The shrimp was super good and came to the table hot. The baked oysters with cheese was not good and came to the table luke warm almost cold the cheese didn't melt.

Listen, I've been to izakayas and tapas restaurants before where the kitchen doesn't pay attention to the coursing of your meal but you all still get fed in a reasonable amount of time. This wasn't that. This was 7 of us got our food and ate and waited for the last one to get his food and sat and watched him eat. The wait go out that last dish, the ribeye steak (most pricey item on the menu to boot), was insane. I finally said something to the waiter after he had made multiple "his steak will be right out" comments in passing and I was snapped back at with "it's izakaya style!" This wasn't the zero regard for western coursing you expect from izakaya places, this was 7 of us finishing our meals and then watching 1 of us eat a meal, when we had a reservation for 8 for dinner. Clearly something had happened with this dish. We also had a reservation for indoor and we were sat outdoor which after being on the beach on Maui all day wasn't what we needed, they didn't have a single fan out there. Was never offered another drink. They brought out check when my nephew had just started eating. This place is right around the corner from my apartment and I will never be back. Food was as good as anywhere else. Oh, and the steak was undercooked.

Very poor service. Multiple items were not submitted to the kitchen. When we asked the server, he seemed visibly annoyed and rolled eyes that we were inquiring as to why someone's entree wasn't on the table. The food was good and had huge portions but we had to wait so long for it to to come out, it was often cold. The restaurant does charge gratuity to tables with a party of 6 or more but they didn't provide basic services or even attempt to acknowledge their huge mistakes. Overall, we were very disappointed and don't recommend anyone try this restaurant.

If, like me, you plan to visit this restaurant for fresh sashimi or sushi, know that this menu no longer exists. It has changed, and they no longer serve fresh fish here.

NOT RECOMMENDED.
We ordered oysters—they were not tasty and had a strange aftertaste. The salmon miso was terrible. It was fish fried in oil with mayonnaise. There was no hint of miso.

The scallops were inedible, with an overwhelming taste. The steak was flavorless. And the prices are not cheap. NOT RECOMMENDED.

We visited the restaurant expecting to enjoy sushi and sashimi as shown in the Google photos, but were disappointed to find they were not on the menu. The waiter informed us that the menu had changed two weeks ago, and now sushi and raw fish are no longer available. Instead, they offer steaks.

The food was unsatisfactory, with all dishes served with the same salad topped with mayonnaise. The presentation and taste did not match the high prices. The fries for the child were undercooked, and the $80 steak was completely tasteless.

Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our experience. We were looking forward to dining at a beautiful restaurant with great reviews, but it turned out to be quite the opposite.

Don’t get the overpriced oysters!!
These might have been the worst oysters that I’ve ever sampled. Perhaps that particular type of oyster isn’t my cup of tea, but for $28 for only 6 oysters, it certainly wasn’t worth it. I’m the sucker for paying for paying that ridiculous amount. They only sell by the half-dozen.
The atmosphere is intimate and pleasant. The staff was friendly.
