PESCA Waikiki Beach

We arrived at our reservation time, waited 25 minutes for a table. We are not snobs but do know what fine dining entails. Waited 20 min and had to get up to request someone to give us service(even just cocktails). They came, we ordered a tartare, Then ordered dinner and ordered a $200 bottle to be had with dinner. Dinner arrives and no bottle. After reminding about the bottle it comes. Server says let me get that iced for you, 15 minutes go buy no ice for the bottle, glasses(both water and champagne) empty. The food was good but the service was not good at all. This is not a fine dining restaurant. We Were prepared to spend $550+ on a meal, here it wasn't worth that at all. Go to orchids down the street, ask for Randall the sommelier he'll do it correctly!! The bar tender dave was great. The manager Joe did make things right when it came to the bill, it was also christmas day. However I would expect fine dining standards no matter the day.

We had a lovely time eating amazing seafood here! The mash potatoes were amazingly garlicky and the Brussels sprouts were grilled al dente. We got a whole fish. The only thing that would have made it better was more sauce (there was only a half lemon for the 4 lb fish and a tablespoon of capers). Luckily we were too full to finish it, so we didn’t have to worry! The desserts were great. Devin made sure we had everything we needed or anticipated our needs! So glad we’re could celebrate a big anniversary here!

We are not sure why there are so many poor reviews. Pesca is a major improvement over the old Sarento’s which occupied th3 same space. The views are wonderful, the service was quite good, and drinks/wine were very reasonably priced for the caliber of the restaurant. I had the filet, which greatly exceeded expectation, my wife had the seafood pasta, which she enjoyed quite a bit, and we both loved the grilled octopus and ahi sashimi appetizer. It is not an inexpensive restaurant and not quite on par overall with similar priced restaurants in waikik, but it’s not too far off. We had a terrific 2.5 hour meal and will be back. Pro tip, their deserts are good, BUT there is a Dave’s Ice Cream in the Ilikai that is very, very good.

Don't let the bad reviews turn you off to this place. The food is good, honestly the best oysters I've had and the view from any part of the restaurant is spectacular...especially if you dine around sunset. Main course was good and waiters were very attentive and polite.

We had dinner here after the ceremony.
The Japanese attendant was very talented and attentive to details, so I was able to enjoy my meal with peace of mind.
The food was very delicious, and the view was spectacular and we could see the sunset.
It's also a place I would like to visit someday.

fish is not what we picked. We intentionally chose a smaller fish that suits our appetite, and it is the last one displayed. However what ended up being served is definitely not the one we picked, 2x the size and we ended up finishing less than half of it. 2x the price also😃 not the expectation we have, not worth the view, overall bad service experience, will not recommend.

Thanks to Alfred our wonderful server, he made our first experience at Pesca great. Super kind, helpful, and informative with the menu options. My mom asked if they had any sauce similar to Thai curry for her crab, to her surprise he brought exactly what she was looking for! Not sure if that was even on the menu, but very delicious.

My mom was very upset that upon entering with a reservation, we were seated all the way in the back of the restaurant in a pretty cold corner, mind you it wasn’t that busy and apparently the manager moved our table because of “other” reservations. Strange. However, Alfred could tell my mom was upset and insisted that he could move us to a different table or whatever it takes to make her/us comfortable. Also thanks to Jeff, again super kind and helpful. Honestly without the servers we had I would’ve gave a lower review based on the first impression of the seating choice given to us, but the amount of genuine concern and consideration of our server is what gave this experience 5 stars. Thank you Alfred!

Shoved in a corner near the service area, with no real views of anything, sadly the food and service did nothing to make up for it. The food wasn’t anything to write home about. But, it was the toughest lobster we’ve ever had! And, we had so many servers we really had no idea who was actually looking after us. The only thing that met our expectations was the cost: overpriced.
