Usually people visit Leonard's as a place to order their malasadas, but all of a sudden Pipeline takes a higher spot than Leonard's. Pipeline and Leonard's are fairly similar except Pipeline has more variety (bakery things besides malasadas.) The service was good, there was no order mistakes and actually didn't have fermented tasting yeast flavor like Leonard's did. The environment was OK, but could be better because there wasn't exactly seating. Otherwise overall, Pipeline is good.

Forget the rest, Pipeline is the best. Pipeline set the bar real high for the infamous malasada game. Do not be hesitant to ride up to Kaimuki, you will not be disappointed and I guarantee this will be your "go-to" for malasadas. Perfectly made with that soft pillow interior you crave. The staff here is welcoming and efficient.

Super cute bake shop in Kaimuki but EAT IT FRESH. not good otherwise. Very doughy/cakey... We had already ate and stopped by and got the strawberry scone and cereal cake bomb. Presentation was great! Since we didn't eat it immediately it made my jaw hurt how sticky it was and the flavors just mushed together. I liked it but I have to believe it could have been better.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Pipeline Bakery's malasadas is better than Leonard's. I said it. It's out there. There is something magical about the light, airy, deep-fried balls of dough that always has me tempted to order a box through GoldBelly as I now live in Las Vegas and Pipeline Bakery is not a drive away. While I haven't tried all of their items, I can attest to hoe delicious their malasadas and ice cream are. They don't have any "filled" malasadas, but they do have different flavored sugars such as li hing, coffee, and matcha. They are also tasty with a subtle hint of the flavor. When ordering a box of 36 malasadas, I was able to place the order online and customize the flavors and how much sugar to have on the doughnut. The hard part about this place is parking. There's a lot in the back that is shared with Bank of Hawaii, but it's a small lot.

I continue to debate who has the best malasadas on the island. Pipeline is a very good choice and the malasadas are fresh and hot - but in my opinion a little too doughy. I do appreciate their ube haupie shortbread squares - unique and yummy! And their sticker collection. But that's not edible.

I went to the other place, both in the storefront and two of their trucks. I've also been to another place. From that, I concluded that, well, I just don't like malassadas. I thought they were too sweet, too sugary... too artificial. But that's okay, not everyone likes every food. Then I had a malassada here. Much less sweet. Much less sugary. Much more flavor. Fresh. Cooked perfectly. Had some other things (cake pops, bread pudding) that were also quite good: don't get me wrong. And I did have that malassada just after ordering, so maybe getting them to go won't be the same. But I'll remember this one for a while.

I thought I reviewed this business before I guess Daniel C. Yelp ghost got to me lol . Located at the corner of Waialae and Koko Head Ave. Today since I was in the area I was craving for some Malasada's so I bought a dozen . I didn't know they also sell ice cream so maybe next time I'll try their ice cream Their cake bomb also looks good I think that's what there known for . Service was very fast I put the ordered in and the Malasada's was ready in about 5 mins or so.it was nice and warm and I got home just to eat 2 real quickly lol . Support local

I had never had a Malasada before so when I read on the website they don't fill them so you have to enjoy them in their original form, I was sold. They also had some other things on the menu that looked really good. I went around 3PM on a Sunday and the options were limited. With them being open later compared to a lot of places I thought they wouldn't run out so early. I did end up with a good selection of items though. I had my eye on the blueberry cheesecake scone and while waiting, the lady in front of my got the last one so that's on my list for next time! Brownie 8.5/10 - dense brownie just the way I like them. For me, needs a chocolate chunk in them for texture. Lemon Cake 9/10 - I'm not a cake person typically because it's often dry. Again this thing was dense and very moist. Energy Bar 7.5/10 - the woman at the counter described it as more of a rice crispy which was true. Imagine peanut butter flavored marshmallow with peanuts and cranberries mixed in. I was surprised I liked it as much as I did. Malasada 9/10 - while this is my first time trying it, I can't imagine they get any better. Made to order so it was fresh and warm. Reminded me a lot of these homemade donuts my mom made me as a kid. As I'm writing this review, I haven't tried the chocolate chip cookie but based on everything else, I know it's going to be good. I will for sure return to this place to try more things!

I stopped by on my way from Waikiki to Kailua. It's delicious when it's piping hot, and fluffy and delicious even when it's cold. I went north for a while on the one-way crossroads on the east side of the store, turned right, made a U-turn, and happened to come to a long downhill road with Diamond Head in front of me. it's recommended.

Light and airy! Not greasy. Wonderful! Made me smile. Thought these were way better than Leonard’s.

Better than the "L" trucks. Soft and airy as a cloud in the inside, crunchy on the outside with a light dusting of sugar. Yummy!!!

Delicious!!!! So glad your prices are very reasonable and haven’t gone up like crazy like the rest of these businesses. Will keep coming!!!

Malasadas made to order! Fresh from fryer, crispy on outside with a fluffy & moist interior. Not too sweet or doughy.

The home of my new favorite malasadas!! Large, yeasty and doughy, with a crisp exterior and generous shower of sugar. As an added perk, you can order them in advance online and they are hot and fresh when you pick up. Every time there is a parking spot right in front of Pipeline, I'm tempted to drop in. Thank you for making these heavenly malasadas! (I should also note that Pipeline's malasadas are a step above those of a popular spot on Kapahulu that is frequented by a lot of tourists. Note: That brand still makes fantastic malasadas at its food truck in Waikele, but they got smaller in Kapahulu.)

I love how late this place is open and that the malasadas are made to order. Just go with the classic. The other flavors do not really come through. Eat one as soon as you get them. The soft pillowy cloud must be consumed immediately. An hour later at home, they were already not as good. I also got a cake bomb to try. These do sell out and not all the flavors were available an hour before closing. Fortunately, I only got one as these are way way too heavy. Like an oily, dense, greasy bundt cake. My bf loved it though so YMMV
