Restaurant Rinka is a well-regarded Japanese eatery on O'ahu, known for serving authentic cuisine. The restaurant transforms into an izakaya at night, offering sushi and sashimi, while daytime lunch options include teishoku set lunches that come with a main entree, rice, pickles, miso soup, and chawanmushi. Recently, customers praised the quality and freshness of the sashimi, which includes local options like otoro and salmon, as well as Japanese imports such as yellowtail, snapper, and uni. The sashimi is well sliced and very fresh. The grilled wagyu set also received positive reviews, with some saying they preferred the grilled Wagyu for its marbling, and others enjoying the yakiniku with a different dipping sauce. The lunch sets offer two small sides, and the kitchen staff clearly cares about their craft, making the prices and portions reasonable. The tempura, especially the tempura shrimp, is considered some of the best in Honolulu. Service is attentive, and the atmosphere is clean, airy, and pleasant, with easy access to parking across the alley in Ward Center’s large parking structure. Overall, Rinka provides a very enjoyable dining experience, with many guests eager to return.
