Sadly, the Rock Island Cafe, the last bastion of the old days, is closed permanently. Never more.
Poor service and no wonder it’s closing down
Amazing food! It was a retro authentic experience with loved merchandise from Elvis and many others.

I am beyond saddened to see this café is closing. My wife and I were here this last April for the first time we try to visit the island once a year and be unobtrusive tourists. The folks at Rock Island Cafe were utterly fantastic to me and my then pregnant wife. They fussed over her on a hot day, making sure she was hydrated and had anything and everything she needed. The atmosphere was great, very much a throw back to old diners that are starting to disappear. I understand needing to move on to new things, but i will absolutely miss this place, and regret that we won't be able to come back and introduce them to our newborn baby. I hope they find happiness and continued success!

Fabulous service, fun atmosphere with 'vintage' movie and TV song montage playing. Food was amazing. Prices were aome of the most reasonable I've seen in the area. Very kid friendly!

Good food for good prices given where it's at! We had a lovely lunch among the kitsch here, so glad we stopped in.

This cafe was full of memorabilia and merriment! The staff were extremely lovely and competent- there was quite a few people in a small cafe and all the meals came out quickly & delicious! I would say it was good value for money, the kids loved it as much as the adults! So many things to see and to do!! And they were unfazed by 9 of us!

5 stars all around for this place! We were staying around the corner during our first Hawaii visit, and I saw the pictures of this cute little cafe. The pictures don't even do it justice! The food was top notch and the milkshakes were amazing (he even gave us the excess of milkshake in an extra cup). The service was also incredible, the guy there was super kind and quick getting us our food out, as well as telling us about all the old memorabilia (which was also for sale, at reasonable prices) in the cafe. Will definitely be back on our next Oahu trip, highly recommend to anyone. 😍

Decent food and fun vibe inside the diner. Would definitely recommend the root beer float, as well as the onion rings.

The sweetest ladies ever kept the place open a bit later just for us! It's perfect American style food ranging in hot dogs, burgers and root beer floats. It's fairly priced and the ambiance is neat as well. The oldie hits from the classic movies helped complete the experience. Definitely give this place a visit.
