So many good memories from when this place was open. It's a shame that Ala Moana and Shirokiya weren't able to come to an agreement in their legal disputes that would have been more beneficial for their customers. And guys, complaining that the place is closed in the reviews won't do anything. You have to "Suggest an Edit" and report this as being permanently closed.
I just read on the news that the company who owns this village walk and Ala Moana corp is suing each other for unpaid rent and this place is not coming back.On the other hand, when this place was open, it was GREAT!
Lots of fun. Tons of restaurants and ample seats. The gacha pon machines are very cute as well.
I don't know how somebody claimed to review this place 3 months ago... they have been closed since March 2020 and haven't re-opened since.i give them 1-star for saying through local news stations that they would be re-opening on April 15... that came and went... with no notice of their change in plans announced until we got to their door. when i contacted mall management, they said shirokiya did not notify them of the decision to continue remaining closed.
Best place for whatever sushi or Japanese food your craving for.
So many great choices for food and desserts in Shirokiya. It's pretty much a food court in Ala Moana. A good spot to take a rest from shopping. There's an abundant of selections to choose from.Plenty of tables and seats underneath a ceiling of hanging pink flowers. It kind of feel like Japan here in the middle of an open air mall. In addition, I'm so glad they have musubi here. Every time we're at Ala Moana, we have to make a note of stoping by to get our musubi fix.It was a lot more convenient since we're already here. One thing though since I'm not a local, this food court kind of felt like a maze to me. We walked around and around to find the musubi place.
Tons of food options. Beer bar. One of my all-time favorite places.
I’ve been to Japan before and this is as close to Japan in America as I’ve seen. The whole village is an experience. The food is AMAZING! I had chicken karaage curry, shrimp tempura, and spring rolls. I wish I had 3 stomachs! The stores were also very representative of what you’d see in Japan. Cute stationary and accessories galore. I can’t wait to return and eat until my heart’s content.
Cheap and cheerful food. Beer is extremely cheap and a good selection. Would definitely recommend and go again, which I have on many occassions
This is a bustling food marketplace that gives you an immersive Japanese cuisine experience with so many options, including tepanyaki, sashimi, sushi, tempura, ramen, udon, musubi, poke, okinomiyaki, gyoza, and more. Prices are reasonable, especially their beer which we did not have but we saw many people enjoy them. We went back a few times and could have gone back many times more!

Lots of vendors to choose from. The karaage was definitely my favorite. I would pass on the green tea shaved ice, too sweet.
Oh sweet lark on a summer day, teasing of moments that may hither come. I press upon my soul the woe, of sorrow for shirokiya. Sing me your song and bring me sweetness, that which I have lost. In the green foliage and blue sky you superimpose upon, I find brief solace.
Late post from July 2020. This place is awesome. Its like a Japanese food court on steroids. So many vendors to choose from. Ate at about 8 of the vendors and everything was good. I guess it would have to be with so much competition. I would reccomend this place even if your not going to the mall.
This is a great food court that will give you many options and choices of Asian food. It is in Ala Moana mall, but you will need to come back several times to enjoy so many choices. The prices are not so bad and there are plenty or tables to eat. Enjoy!
Must visit this place if you are a food lover like me. Awesome food and great environment. You can also enjoy amazing selection of beers and cocktails. I have visited this place many times with my friends.
