It was satisfying to have east asian food in Honolulu all together. I think what was missing were dumpling options and maybe more rice options paired with stir fried dishes and South East Asian curries. Lots of noodle varieties (ramen, udon, pho, taiwanese, soba)
We went to Udon Yama, it was tasty and reasonably priced compared to several of the surrounding options inside this food hall. Very packed, prepare to shuffle through like cattle. At a couple of places there were employees sort of trying to sell us on choosing their place, even though they didn't have tables available yet. But it's hard to sell a family on a long wait, haha. The cook at udon Yama was helpful and patient about explaining some menu items to my kids. The food was aromatic and tempting enough that we forgot to take a picture until we were done!

My new favorite is kyoja kalguksu!! A popular takeout ward good chicken restaurant has finally opened in Waikiki!Delicious, convenient, and sure to become a regular customer. Personally, l've always enjoyed chili chicken and handmade Mandoo (dumplings), but here in Waikiki, I've indulged in some delicious gimbap. It feels like my mom's one..clean, MSG-free.

Stix Asia is such a cute spot! I highly recommend if you're not quite sure what you want. They have a diverse selection of noodles. From Japanese ramen, soba, udon, shabu and more! They have an excellent selection of restaurants to try.
