Sunrise Restaurant Hawaii Reviews
I’ve never before experienced such authentic, loving hospitality. It was like I was in my grandmother’s living room with eating with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. Very grateful for Chokatsu and Tomoko and their friend’s warmth. Absolutely incredible, tasty, soul-nourishing food. Minna, arigatō!
I was ono for some sushi and soki soup combo. So good.. just like baban used to make.?

Sunrise Restaurant Hawaii in Kapahulu offers a taste of Okinawan cuisine in a cozy, nostalgic setting. The friendly service and authentic dishes like soki soba and Okinawan noodles make diners feel at home. This small restaurant has a lot of heart, with owners known for their warm hospitality and kindness. While the restaurant's exterior may appear run down, the welcoming environment and quick service inside create a positive dining experience. Customers can enjoy a variety of healthy options, including the Combination: Sushi & Soup meal with Pig Feet or Spare Rib Soup. The Pork Bitter Melon, Big Feet Soup, and Yaki Soba have all been praised for their delicious flavors. The sashimi platter is highly recommended, as well as the bitter melon with egg, which many find reminiscent of home-cooked meals. Although there aren't many vegetarian options, the staff is willing to accommodate requests. With a BYOB policy, Sunrise Restaurant Hawaii provides a friendly atmosphere that feels like dining in someone's home. Parking can be limited, with only 2 spaces in front and street or public pay parking afterward, but the overall experience makes it worth visiting for those seeking authentic Okinawan food in a cozy setting.
