Great Ramen, nothing to complain about.

Tanaka Ramen was… fine, I guess. The food was decent, nothing to rave about, but the service was barely there. If you could even call it service, they did the absolute minimum—brought the food, then the check, and that was about it. No engagement, no effort, just going through the motions. With so many other great ramen spots around, I don’t see a reason to come back.

Good ramen menu. No real dessert but with the visit.

Kid-friendliness: My kids(between 10 and 14) enjoy the ramen options.

They shut down, switch to takeout only, and turn you away well before their closing time.

The chef of this restaurant really knows how to cook spicy food. I ate the noodles I ordered while crying. It was really delicious. The location is also really nice. The atmosphere is very simple, there are only rectangular tables, it is a bit narrow inside.

Why was my payment canceled 3 days after I went to the restaurant and repaid with an additional $11.73?
I paid for the food plus tax and tip.
When I came back after the trip, the payment was made again 3 days later.
I wonder why.
The food was delicious. There will be a wait, so please arrive with plenty of time. I wanted to leave a good review, but it's a shame.

My kid especially love the pork bun. We went back 4 times during our visit in Hawaii. We tried all the tonkatsu ramen and the soup base is very flavorful and thick. I would suggest this place.

We loved the incredible vegan options at this place. There is of course the fully customizable veg ramen with tons of healthy toppings and beautiful veg broth, the spicy creamy vegan with kale noodles (i asked for a level 4 and it delivered so nicely) - don’t let kale scare you, the noodles are just thin and green. My son had a veg fried rice which was the garlic one minus pork - wish they subbed in vegetables (we didn’t know to ask, but my suggestion is they should offer substitutions if a guest is declining meat). The service was courteous and prompt (we waited an hour but that’s just how it is all over Maui)… lots of locals at this spot too which was really nice. We didn’t try the other vegan options - Dan Dan noodles and tempura brussel sprouts. Thank you for being vegan-friendly!
