Craving tempura, my husband found this highly rated restaurant, so we had to try it out. Located in Stix ASIA, one of several Asian restaurants in the basement of Waikiki Shopping Plaza. Servers were attentive, yet not overbearing. We had fun teasing with our waiter, thankfully he was a good sport. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura and the other two had the Kiki tempura bowls. My husband thought his were greasy, but all were very good.

Each piece, whether it was the shrimp, seasonal vegetables, or fish, was lightly battered and fried to golden perfection. The crispiness was spot-on, and you could tell that the ingredients were of the highest quality – fresh, delicate, and absolutely flavorful. What truly sets Tempura KiKi apart is their attention to detail. The tempura wasn’t greasy at all, and every bite melted in my mouth, retaining the pure flavor of each ingredient.
Beyond the food, the service was fantastic. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. They were quick to explain the menu, making sure I had everything I needed without being overbearing. It made me feel welcome and appreciated as a guest.

I stopped by here because I heard the tempura is delicious. It's better than the mainland. It's great. And there is no draft beer, but the bottled beer is delicious, so try it together. The owner is very friendly and the chef who prepares delicious food is the best????

Sorry but So deep-fried tasting that it was just too rich & over powered the food itself. If you like it that way, ok, but just didn't to us. We could taste the fried taste long after we left. Service was ok, but not engaging at all comparatively. Wasn't busy at all--should have read it as a sign... & the $ was way too much for the food itself.

What an amazing authentic meal! We thoroughly enjoyed the tempura sets with rice and udon. They brought out 2 servings of tempura so they don't get cold or soft. The rice was so moist and delicious. Despite the high price, consider yourself lucky to enjoy such a delicious meal outside of Japan. Service was so friendly and accommodating.
