The Cutlery offers a neighborhood steakhouse and barbershop experience. While some have found the food mediocre, others have enjoyed large prime rib cuts, bone marrow with chimichurri sauce, and lobster with amazing flavor. Mashed potatoes are smooth and savory, and jidori chicken is roasted and flavored well. The staff is attentive and friendly, creating good memories for special occasions. The atmosphere has a casual, comfortable, and not stuffy vibe with dark decor and mood lighting. The open-air bar is air-conditioned, with some bar seats and high tops, while a traditional dining room is off to the side. Outdoor seating wraps around part of the eatery with shrubbery for privacy, and there is also a barbershop at the back of the restaurant. Reservations are recommended, especially for indoor seating. Parking is available in a small, free lot. The menu features backlit menus with a nice cocktail list, seafood and meat appetizers, salads, grilled meats, pasta, kids menu, and desserts. Specific dishes mentioned include Charred Romaine Caesar Salad, Mushroom Medley, New York Striploin, Ribeye, Porterhouse, and Fire Roasted Corn, which is highly recommended. Beverages include an excellent Mojito with an intense mint flavor. The steaks are well-seasoned, kiawe grilled to create a perfect crust, then finished in butter, giving the meat a nice extra flavor. The grilled romaine Caesar salad and the grilled corn on the cob served Mexican street style are also delicious. Meat temperature was perfect. The restaurant provides good food at affordable prices, with friendly service that enhances the dining experience. Recent visitors shared that their first experience was very positive, praising the friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, and how well-prepared the ribeye steak, kampachi, and shrimp were. Even during the busy Christmas Parade outside, the experience remained great, and they plan to return. Others mentioned that everything at The Cutlery feels truly perfect, from the moment you walk in to when you leave. Service was described as impeccable, with staff making guests feel genuinely welcomed, like family. The food was out of this world, perfectly seasoned, beautifully plated, and full of flavor, reflecting real passion and pride. The atmosphere was warm, with staff and even the owner taking time to talk and make guests feel special. Many consider it a restaurant worth telling everyone about and returning to again and again. One reviewer shared their special occasion experience, praising dishes like the ribeye, pasta with short ribs, rack of lamb, duck fries, broccoli, oysters, mushroom medley, and escargot as excellent. They noted the ribeye could have had a bit more salt and was cooked with too much butter, making it somewhat bland, but overall, the dinner was excellent. The oysters were tasty and fresh despite being small, and the duck fries and mushroom medley were highlights. They also expressed disappointment about the out-of-stock 7-hour prime rib, but plan to return to try it.
