This is the new version of the JJ's Bistro, which used to be on Waialae Avenue in Kaimuki. The food is good, the desserts are excellent.

A Hidden gem! Start with dessert. Lol. But seriously, go inside and make your dessert decisions before you eat. I had the fisherman‘s pot pie. His pastries are amazing.

We have been here many times. The food is French Asian fusion and excellent. The pre fixe dinners are the most economical choice that gets you choice of appetizers, entrepreneurs and one of their amazing desserts. There are probably 20 different patisserie options. All displayed beautifully in the shop. The chocolate pyramid is their signature dessert.

Tiny Pyramid, in Nā Lama Kukui near Nimitz highway, channels the spirit of Anthony Bourdain with its audacious fusion of French finesse and Southeast Asian flair. The green Thai curry bursts with chaotic market vibes from Thailand, while the tuna Wellington rebels against tradition with a symphony of tuna, egg, and spinach wrapped in defiantly baked Filo dough. The ambiance radiates eclectic charm, and the attentive crew ensures you're on a global culinary journey. Tiny Pyramid isa just a restaurant; it's a rebellion against culinary norms, an invitation to savor a world without borders, echoing Bourdain's adventurous ethos.

JJ French Bistro & Pastry was one of my all time favorite places to dine when they were located in Kaimuki many years ago. Before they expanded there and were still a small restaurant, we had my son-in-law's graduation party from Nursing School there one evening, occupying the whole restaurant. I world dine there regularly with family and friends. I loved everything on their menu and the French desserts at the end of every meal. I also loved that it was BYOB. After they moved to Nimitz Hwy. I had my 60th Birthday there, reserving it for one night for my close family & friends. My brother and sister also hired Frank DeLima to entertain. Wonderful evening! For unknown reasons, that was my last time, dining there. I retired soon after and I guess life and it's challenges (pandemic) took over. Well last week a friend suggested we have lunch at Tiny Pyramid and I decided to Yelp the restaurant and realized it was JJ just renamed. I was so excited to have lunch there. The menu has all the dishes I've missed and it was wonderful, seeing their delightful desserts on display. I also missed their cookies! Now in 10 plus years, prices have increased. The food is prepared so well, that my mind set, is you are paying for what you get! I ordered 3 dishes, I missed. The food is as I remembered! Delicious! Service is still exceptional! I also went home with a few bags of cookies to enjoy later! I plan to be back again soon! I took photos of two of the dishes I ordered. It tasted as good as it looks! Highly recommended!

On top of the holiday festivities, November is filled with family birthdays. Last night, we celebrated our daughter. Tiny Pyramid's dinner menu offers choices that made us want to try a little of everything. We all opted for the 4-course menu. We all shared a taste of each other's choices and agreed thumbs up, including the warm loaf baguette. The food hit different areas of our taste buds. My starter choice was the soup. Yummy! For the appetizer, boy, what a tough decision. Unanimous head nods for the baked lobster. It was our favorite, but the baked oysters and Lao roll brought smiles, too. For the main dish, I decided to try the Sea Scallop Napoleon. I loved the flaky pastry instead of a traditional pie crust. I don't usually enjoy curry, but I liked it in this dish!Dessert, choosing from their selection... It would have taken us all night. We sampled each other's strawberry cheesecake, matcha mousse, and chocolate lilikoi mousse. All yum! It's not too sweet and fancy enough to make you feel special when eating something special. All in all, we all left with bellies smiling. Lots of free parking, and dress is casual. Table service is in the common area of the building, and we received attentive and engaged service. This place is BYOB, but they have an assortment of teas and coffee drinks. The lychee iced tea was just right for me. We will be back, hopefully soon, for a date night. Pretty please! I've got to taste their signature chocolate mousse pyramid!!

Been here several times. The food is always great! Freshly prepared, served beautifully and artistic. If you like lemongrass, you will love their light soup with vegetables and lemongrass in a clear broth. Served in a clay pot, it stays warm! Sometimes though, the plates/bowls are a little hard to eat out of. The baked opakapaka came in this weird plate that kept tipping over and spilling. Service varies. Sometimes it's quick, but this time it was super slow. There were three servers during lunch time, we had reservations, it was a little busy, but we hardly saw them. No refills on water, I had to wait for place settings and more napkins, we had to ask for things after waiting a while. Not sure what happened. Make reservations as they are always busy, and try the local Maui kombucha! Ambiance was the usual busy working folks in for lunch.

It's my favorite eatery to bring folks looking for a casual gourmet experience. Try the prex fixe menu for the best priced selection of appetizer, entrée, and best of all, a beautiful dessert by JJ! As a final bonus, BYOB w/ no add'l corkage fees!

Tried this place during lunch time. The food was pretty decent. I was able to taste different seafoods, but I’d like to come back one day and try their curry. For me however the food was not five stars. They had lots and lots of desert choices. We tried the framboise mouse and tiny pyramid which were great.

Service is excellent. Even though it was a busy lunch time, they quickly accommodated two of us. Ample parking fronting the building albeit quite full during lunch time. The food was decent. I enjoyed various kinds of seafood with bread. Next time I should give the curry a try, since the chef is from Laos.

Nestled in the former Pacific Gentry Center on Nimitz, this place has ample parking and a unique vibe. Imagine chilling in a cafe that's smack-dab in the middle of some home design stores--it's casual, kinda industrial, and yeah, maybe a bit dim, but that's part of its offbeat charm.Service is casual and heads up, they don't split checks, so bring cash unless you want to play a round of "Who's gonna Venmo who?"The desserts are the headliner here--they are all very pretty. The pastry chef here really puts in the work. The chocolate pyramid is their Mona Lisa and. I really liked their mini cheesecakes. But given the price, it's not an everyday kinda spot, maybe more of a "treat yourself" place. I was really excited about their lobster pad thai but it just didn't hit the spot for me. Next time I come in I want to try one of their "puff daddy" pot pies. Or maybe I'll just come for coffee and some pastries.

Quite the selection of decadent desserts. This is not your average bakery but a classy little cafe tucked away with much to offer. I only tried a few deserts but everything was amazing. I purchased the treats inside at the counter and decided to sit outside in the restaurant seating area and eat them. The service was friendly and extremely helpful in pointing out what to sample. So many choices with creative and local flavors. For Honolulu the parking won't get easier. One of the worst deterrents in trying new places if parking availability. You won't find that problem here. A large lot is outside and free of charge.
